Good God!

You'd have to get at this guy with a couple of M2 Abrams if you wanted to serve him with any legal process.  ;D

The belt buckle gun was neat.

How stable is some of that explosive material? The nitro dynamite? Wow.

I've been busy this winter, renovating my ex-wifes office into my new gun room

Not counting my pistols and a couple long guns in the closet, I'm super happy with the transfer!

You could always double up and go with an EoTech/Aimpoint and magnifier.

And because gun porn, here's my Boxing Day purchases;

Surefire MB556K and MB762K respectively. Rampart had them down to $160 each.

We are Canadian, and these are not automatic weapons.

There were 4400 actual automatic weapons legally owned by private citizens in 1978. None of those have ever been used in a crime.

The number may be less now, as the owners were grandfathered in Trudeau I's firearms legislation of that year and many will have died out. I was working on purchasing an XM177 at that time, but could not complete the deal before the legislation took effect, else I'd still be grandfathered and able to purchase other automatic weapons that were registered prior to that.

This video demonstrates how nonsensical these sorts of laws actually are. The weapon being described is a fully automatic submachine gun which can be build using hand tools and ordinary parts from a hardware store. And we probably have heard of the gunsmiths in Pakistan who could replicate virtually any firearm (mostly AK's and other Soviet weapons, but there is also a thriving business making replica Martini-Henry rifles and other Victorian era weaponry for collectors as well):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIhGCRIQnCA

(Not advocating anyone actually do this, simply pointing out it is possible and almost trivially easy to circumvent these sorts of laws)

Not military at all, but loads of fun (for some values of fun): Dragon's Breath ammunition. The blog post has 3 links to videos of this being fired: http://up-ship.com/blog/?p=36772

and this blogger's on fire, there is also a video of an updated version of the Auto-Ordinance Thompson Submachinegun (you read that right: a modern Tommygun): http://up-ship.com/blog/?p=36764

I wanted to get a Glock 17 but I'm leaning towards the 19 now.

How do you like the .45s?  I wanted to pick up a 1911 too but I'm really on the fence about introducing a new caliber to the house. Everyone says .45 is really cost prohibitive to shoot too.

Apologies for the super late reply, work was blocking this site for a while and now it seems to be working again.

I like my .45s, but to be honest, I shoot my Sig (9mm) the most.  Mostly because I'm cheap.

I did a Mk18 Mod 0 clone build a while ago but had the itch to do a Block II build.

The DD upper was previously enjoyed and the owner Krylon'd it and did the whole artifical weathering thing on it.  To each their own, but it looked a little forced, so I gave it a fresh coat of tan and let it wear naturally.  I also had a spare LE6920 lower so I gave that a blast of tan as well.

Anyway, calling this clone build done for now....till the OCD gets the best of me and I somehow find the money for a real Peq15

I finished up my Mk12 Mod 1 clone build for now as well (just missing the Mark 4 and the 18" Douglas barrel.  Couldn't source an A1 lower so I used one of those stripped SR15 lowers from OST before they closed.

Also managed to dig up a Colt 20 round magazine....these things are a complete pain in the dick to source.

Managed to get my hands on a vintage Colt scope.  It's a 3rd Gen, made in Japan, so not super old, but definitely has some old school cool factor.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it, but I have a few things in the spare parts bin and I might be able to assemble a complete rifle.  Just not sure about the 16" barrel on the fixed carry handle upper.  I would prefer something 14.5" or shorter, but the 16" is all I have for now, so guess it will sit there for now.

I actually have a spare A1 lower in my spare parts, but I'm not sure I want to use it.

Speaking of spare parts, I slapped together a few rifles using parts from my spare parts bin.

Slapped together this M16A2 clone, but it's kind of buggered because all I had was a Colt Canada lower, and the engraving on it's totally incorrect:

Will have to find a Colt lower when time and money allows.

The fixed carry hand upper the Colt scope is sitting on (also slapped together with spare parts):

While we're on the subject of spare parts, I did have a few other goodies I dug up and Reliable Gun was selling those Remington 700 barrelled actions so I figured I should get into the 6.5CM game.

I bought the AI chassis a long time ago and never got around to using it since I was obsessed (still am) with Cadex chassis systems.  But those barreled actions were too cheap to pass up so I grabbed one.

I was able to get rounds on steel on first shot at 480m, 680m, 860m, and I had to work a bit for 1,190m.

They were selling for $699 at the time, doesn't look like they currently have any 6.5 cm in stock right now, only the .308.

Couldn't hurt to give them a shout and have them order one from Gravel Agency though.

It should as long as it's profiled for Remington short action.

Zombie project started.

I don't relish the idea of registering one of them as restricted to put the short barrel on. Kills the resale value.

Looking at a 2.5-10x scope for the DMR variant.  Maybe 3-15x but I'm looking among towards a physically smaller scope.  FFP and Mrad if I can find them. (come on canex plan)
Vortex are nice but overpriced and starting to be mass produced to the point I think flaws are starting to creep up.

Stainless steel DMR barrel is almost a pound lighter, makes a huge difference.  Might turf the magpul prs stock (top) for a second acr folding stock (bottom).

That's pretty nice.

I think I'm going to move off the AR platform. I'm going to start building with non restricted stuff so I can take it to the woods, or whatever. Once I've got a few, I'm dumping all my AR stuff.
