Heard another useful one this afternoon:

SEP = Somebody Else's Problem, a.k.a. THTH = Too Hard/Hot To Handle
Junior officers and NCOs who neglect to guide the thinking of their men are shirking a command responsibility.
-Feb 1955 Cbt Forces Journal
Those who appreciate true valour should in their daily intercourse set gentleness first and aim to win the love and esteem of others. If you affect valour and act with violence, the world will in the end detest you and look upon you as wild beasts. Of this you should take heed.

Thanks for remembering we medical branch folks!  CFMG changed names last year - it is now Canadian Forces Health Services Group (CF H Svcs Gp).

En français:  (le) Groupe des services de santé des forces canadiennes (Gp Svc S FC).

The ref is:  DGSP 005 141200Z May 04.

Thanks. :)

3VP is a short form for 3 PPCLI, and there is a 1st BN and 2nd BN.  The VP comes from the centre of the capbadge which has the initials VP, which stands for Victoria Patricia
All right, they're on our left, they're on our right, they're in front of us, they're behind us... they can't get away this time.

Apparently, a "USUAL SUSPECT"

“In peace there's nothing so becomes a man as modest stillness and humility; but when the blast of war blows in our ears, then imitate the action of the tiger; stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard-favor'd rage.”

There's also a three-letter acronym for a three-letter acronym - TLA. I found that endlessly amusing when I saw it in print in a CF document somewhere.
