Post by: 404SqnAVSTeach on April 22, 2005, 09:35:26
Ultra Electronics Tactical Communication Systems ( TCS) has been awarded a contract by Canada's Department of National Defence (DND) valued at C$12.7 million (US$10.4 million), for the supply of an unspecified quantity of AN/GRC-245 multiband, software-programmable radios. The contract includes an upgrade to 16 Mb/s capability, thereby providing what the company claims is the world's first Band 1 and Band 3+ line-of-sight radio with this capacity. AN/GRC-245 radios have been in US Army service since 2000.
