Trouble Ahead For the ROK-Japan Alliance ?

This would be a real problem for the US and its partners if it cant be curbed. Uncle Kim would love this as well as the PRC.

Probably yes.

But the current POTUS seems hell bent on withdrawing from the world order so I'm fairly certain he is not too concerned.

Both ROK and Japan would put their squabbles aside if the poop hit the rotary device.

Problem is that, because of Japan's nasty imperial rule in Korea, there is no such alliance. Korean (and Chinese) memories are deep and strong.

True, but they are both very aware of China and NK being a problem for both of them. ROK is a nice buffer for Japan and Japan will never again be a territorial threat to ROK and will have the ROK back in any conflict with the other two.
