2026 NDP Leadership Race & Pick

At some point in the not too distant future I can see a potential leader for any one of the parties telling the special interest groups:

"Go piss up a rope" or words to that effect.
Does that include a Province?

This Rob Ashton guy sounds interesting. More a throw back to its blue collar roots.

Don't think Tom would ever come back to the NDP. From the way he talks, if he got back into politics, I am pretty sure he would be Liberal.
As much as I would never vote for the NDP, either federally or provincially (as things stand now - open to changing my mind in the future) I think Tom would actually do the Liberal party a world of good.

I think Tom is very capable but I suspect he has some bitterness towards his old party. They turfed him.

I miss folks like this in the NDP (like David Christopherson.

Lot of baggage with the NDP 'brand' though, almost wonder if a dedicated labour party might have better luck, and roll in both blue collar as well as the masses of similarly unionized of non unionized white collar worker bees.

Well this will make things interesting, we'll see if voting members remember the roots of the NDP. She is also the only sitting NDP MP running in the leadership race.

At first, I did a double-take. Then I read this from the article:

Company unions are organized employee unions that are accountable to the employer, and their existence runs afoul of international labour law.

These “unions” sound like a scam if they’re basically in cahoots with the employers. Kind of like the labour unions in the PRC and USSR.

Well, at least they narrowed it down to two ;)

Hard-left political party erases women and now refers to two sexes as 'men' and 'non-men' to keep trans activists happy

The New Democratic Party of Canada has come under scrutiny for an email that appeared to be sent to members, announcing newly elected leaders as 'non-male' and 'male'.

Independent journalist Jonathan Kay shared the email on X with the caption: 'The @NDP now apparently classifies its executive members in two categories: (1) NON-MALE, and (2) MALE.'

The screenshotted email was apparently sent by the New Westminster - Burnaby -Maillardville chapter and detailed highlights from the party's last annual general meeting.

The new members who identified as 'non-male' were listed as Doris Mah, Alodie Yen, Agnes Jackman, Penny Oyama, and Marla Penner.

The 'male' members were listed as Dante Abbey, Eric Van Fleet, Aidan McDonough, Peter Julian, and Kebebe Abate.

The apparent leaked email went viral on X, with many social media users denouncing the party's 'erasure' of women.

'The party of acceptance has erased women. How nice of them...' one tweet read.

'Alienating half of the voting public seems like a poor political strategy,' another comment noted.
