    CAF Combat boots policy 2005-2018

Eye In The Sky, Very good post, I've had some of the same issues and frustations when it comes to the boots. Even worse when I went on Op Impact...that was a gong show.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

That's what I said! But the ACSO trade wouldn't let us go away that easy.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

The students will still be receiving their wings here in Winnipeg. The idea was to have the wing issued once MOAT/OTU qualified but it got shut down.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

So far the only "big" change coming into the trade other than MESIP is the BAQC & IAQC will return to a combine course 6 months ish, and the trainer will be upgraded to the PCT (Proficiency Crew Trainer) already used in Comox and Greenwood. The course will go down from 6 CT-142 flights to 2...

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

I thought LDA counted towards Fly pay? It is a good time to join the trade, lots of staffing issue due to forecast/un-forecast releases, members commissioning, etc. Right now at the school our annual outpout is suppose to be 20, however we have difficulty achieving that target. The OT process...

I would doubt about that. Look what happened to his uncle a year ago.

Op IMPACT: CAF in the Iraq & Syria crisis

I agree, it will require a few tours to qualify for it.

    FWSAR (CC130H, Buffalo, C27J, V22): Status & Possibilities

From my CoC it is confirm AESOP will have a seat on the new fix wing SAR platform while ACSO lost theirs.

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

I believe partly due to CT-142 mid-life upgrade and lack of instructors (I'm posted there this summer and was told to be ready to hit the ground running). I hope we start pumping out more students soon to help us reach our numbers that will inevitably go down with the upcoming releases and...

Sad to read this story. To many of us in uniform are suffering, please use the tools avail (when possible) to get help. http://www.45enord.ca/2015/05/drame-a-kingston-un-eleve-officier-du-college-militaire-royal-du-canada-se-suicide/

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

Very good point h3tacco, one thing to consider also will be the impact of the MESIP on the AESOP trade. That will mean you will have Cpl level AESOPs on crews with less experience. We will see some of the effects on the LRP side were most Sgt won't be flying anymore. The ones who will fly won't...

    CH-148 Cyclone Progress

They're going to find out they need 2 AESOPs onboard or share sensors with the TACCO. My 2 cents.

    Canucks in RAAF doin' good

Dolphin_Hunter Yes you're right, but sadly it became Officer vs NCM thing (guess who won?). AESOP will open positions to Sigonela on the NATO UAV program starting this summer, one member is already screening for it. They'll be more openings by 2016.

    All Things Richard Rohmer (merged)

Oldgateboatdriver, From your previous post, I think this might be one of the reasons why the RCAF is looking at developing a program where the Lts are "mentored" by WOs and Jr Capts "mentored" by MWOs. Kinda what the Army does; it was mentioned a week ago by the RCAF CWO during a town hall.

Canadian Civilians Fighting ISIS (including threats to YPG)

Why would the CDS mention this? Our intervention is very limited.  Maybe we're about to get more involved?

The RCAF rank Velcro patch is the same color as the current slip-on, except the border of the Velcro patch is also air force blue color.

AESOP used to be MOC 081 but changed to MOSSID 00019. Good luck with the rest of your training.
