    Most dreadful PT experience

Today wasn't much better! Do they check the weather channel for the worst weather possible before they schedule Dcdts PT?!

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

For my year, the VIE for most was 13 years although pilots and a few other cases with extended training have longer VIEs.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

The point of this new system is to wait a little while before choosing occupations so that you can see what else there is in the CF, thus it should be relatively easy to ask for Infantry or Armour when you selected your trade next year. I suggest taking it, instead of chancing second round.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

As a First Year RMC cadet under this new system, I don't think anyone (other than those in charge of assigning these trades) can tell you exactly what happens. Within the next couple of months is when we will see this new system. AFAIK the only VORs they accepted for first years was anyone who...

    Cadet going CIC

AFAIK, You need to find a cadet unit who has a spot on their slate for you/are willing to take you on. The CO of that unit should then initiate the paperwork with you. As part of the paperwork you need a VSS, which is check done by the police to ensure that you have no past activities that...

Prospective student for RMC, worried about extra-curricular activities.

Red_Lion, They recommend those courses because in second year you take a physics or chemistry class. No worries if you don't have them. I didn't take them and they let me in. AFAIK, they just have a pre-chemistry or physics course that you'll have to take. I saw those requirements and I got...

    Country Restrictions

I attended a NCIU briefing last night and according to them you must fill out a Notice of Intent to Travel form 30 days prior to your trip if you plan on going anywhere except the US. I only have an ERC level and I was required to attend the briefing.

    RMC personal belongings question

Not so much anymore. With the reopening of RMC ST. Jean, there are very few Francos around. In my flight we have 1 Francophone. They assigned our rooms by slapping names on a door, and when we got here that was our room. You better hope you get lucky and like your roommate, because you are...

    RMC personal belongings question

Thats the best solution. Keep it to the minimum, especially during FYOP. Otherwise you just have extra stuff to worry about. Once FYOP is finished, and the standards relax a little then you can find out from your staff what you will and won't be allowed. Every Sqn is different, and new rules...

    Some Help Please...

Well good news today- no cartilage or major ligament damage! I do have two partial tears though, one is a tear in my distal vastus lateralis tendon and the the other is in something called the lateral patellar retinaculum. I should make a full recovery with only physiotherapy, but I still need...

    Some Help Please...

So a little update, I went for a second (and third) opinion yesterday. On my range of motion tests I tested positive in both the Lachman and McMurray tests, leaving my doctor to believe I have injured/torn my ACL and lateral meniscus. Due to my limited time frame, my doctor suggested I go to...

    Reserve Co-op enrollment 2014-2017

Racioppa in Markham/ York Region you get 4 credits from Co-op, and it is with the Queens York Rangers. You must also be in a semestered school, so if you go to Markham District then you are going to have to switch schools if you want to do the Co-op. I'm you're recently retired RSM if you...

    The Official Euro 2008 thread

Well I'm an England fan so I'll just be appreciating some good soccer, without much bias. Although being a Liverpool fan, I do want Spain to win! Hmm I also seem to support underachievers...

    Some Help Please...

Would they actually do that? I thought they might give me the boot if I was injured because I wouldn't be able to do the training (which is why I am hesitant to tell the CFRC until I know the results of the MRI and I have a clear picture of whats wrong). If they do that then great!  It gives me...

    Some Help Please...

I don't mean to seem so panicky and desperate to jump back in, but its a stressful time for me. If I am not fit enough for RMC I may be unable to attend university at all next year seeing as the acceptance deadline for universities has passed. I could very well be SOL. From the way it feels, I...

    Some Help Please...

In your experience, after such a long lay off (for me by the time they tell me whether I can run or not it will have been 3 months without running on my own, and 2 months since the last  time I did any sort of cardio training) how hard is it to regain your prior conditioning? I understand that...

    Some Help Please...

I feel fine now, little to no pain but I've stopped all running and strengthening of my legs until I get further advice from a doctor. I know that no one can offer me better advice about my injury, but what I'd like to hear is training tips. I have 6 weeks between when I receive the results of...

    Some Help Please...

So I'm in a tough situation and I'm hoping for a little bit of help. I was accepted to RMC back in February and since then I've been training regularly in order to make sure I'm fit enough to get through RMC. I was running, going to the gym, and training for rugby. I stopped running on my own in...

    Cadet Smoking

Both Connaught and Blackdown allow cadets to smoke as long as they have a waiver filled out by their parents, they must then prevent this waiver to their staff in order to be given a smoking chit. Only those with smoking chits are allowed to smoke in the designated smoking area, those without...
