    Cadet Liaison Officer

Bograt, Being a CLO and volunteering are two different things. Being a CLO,   you usually don't work directly with the cadets but you are in charge of « opening doors » for the Cadet units, directing the CO's on the how and when and who of their request for support from you own Squadron (If...

Can you be promoted at camp?

Only the CO of your home Cadet Corps can give you a promotion.   Staff Cadets ranks are only temporary and do not affect you rank progression at your home unit.   Actually, they where Power Scholarship cadets and the LAC ranks where issued to help differentiate the fly-boys who "belonged" to...

Question: Typical Activities of Cadet Units

Apart from the Mandatory training program, each unit will pretty much run whatever activities work for them.  There is usually however a great need for instructors who can teach the « aviation » subject of the program and prepare the cadets for the flying scholarship selection exams. ...

Question: Typical Activities of Cadet Units

None of these activities seem out of the ordinary but they are obviously the core of our training.  Activities like the soccer game are also not uncommon since getting he parents involved and aware of our activities is a big part of the success of a unit.  My former unit had one « Parents Night...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

Intelligere, I can understand you obvious pride in your previous service and you Regiment and you desire to continue to wear the insignias of that unit during your « second CIC career ». Bt the majority of CIC officer's don't have this kind of career and will for the most part only be...

CIC branch buttons for army CIC officers ... what do you think?

Pviddy, Army CIC Officer ARE NOT authorized to wear the cap badge of their affiliated units.  Some do it but it's wrong.  A CIC Officer should only wer the insignias of his Branch. Navy and Air CIC Officer don't wear any other CIC Branch insignias because collar badges and shoulder titles are...

    New Designations

    Question for Air Cadets

A certain number of   positions are awarded to cadets from Squadrons who haven't sent a candidate on the course in the last 3 years (around 10% of the available positions according to my failing memory).   The other 90% are selected entirely on merit and on the results of the exam, interview...

    Our Great GG.

« Technically » independent states who relinquished many of their powers to a central government, who has been, over the last 137 years became the de facto dominant political body instead of just an emanation of the Provinces.   Those 10 independent states still have no way of amending their...

    Our Great GG.

On a purely practical level, making each provincial Premier a "mini Head of State" instead of just the head of Government for their Province would not make any difference for the Confederation, unless you absolutely want to maintain the fiction that each Province is actually a independent...

I think we could get rid of the Provincials Lieutenant-Governors and nobody would notice.

    New CIC training system?

National assessment forms and exams where introduced recently, which did have a minor impact on how certain PO's where taught and/or assessed.  But the basic content (and the actuall course standards) have not changed.

    New CIC training system?

The real test trials for the courses haven't begun yet.   The Standards Officer from RCIS(E) just came back from a meeting in Trenton and the latest news is that there isn't even a consensus right now on the length of the courses so where still far from trial and full implementation. The...

    Canadian peacekeeper gear...

The only major complaint I have would be the hip belt on the Ops Pack : weird and impractical adjustement system.  I endend up unstitching the whole thing and repacing the buckle. I had some doubts about the pack but for what I use it for, it's OK.
