    Trans to CIC

You'll have more chance by contacting your local Cadet Detachment.  Previous cadet service might get an accelerated promotion to 2Lt depending on the Region -  I'm in Eastern and see only a few cases of transfers from Reg or Res NCM to CIC, a lot of them being senior NCM's.  The promotion system...

    New CIC training system?

Absolutely.  The new training courses will have some elemental training and some courses will only be available to some elements but the system will be basically the same for everyone (much as it is right now)

    New Promotion System

You might want to re-check your notes from that meeting.    ;) http://www.cadets.ca/armcad/ranks-grades/4_e.asp That would be the same kind of minimum standards before receiving a promotion that exist for Sea and Air Cadets. Yes, promotion up to and including Cpl are just based on star level...

how can being in air cadets help you in a air force carreer

But you can understand how to work in a hierachical environment, teamwork, delegation.  You'll do things that you didn't think you could do before (flying a plane, surviving in the bush, commanding a parade) and that's a great confidence booster for ANY carreer.  No matter what you do with...

    Online kit shop

I used to drive an hour and a half to get to St-Jean to exchange kit.   The QM in St-Jean was oppened something like 2 days a week (for 5 hours) for the "general public", the rest of the time they kitted recruits or you had to make an appointement. Ordering stuff online is a great improvment...

    Go beyond your local experience...

The uniform and the commission are the tangible symbols of the interest that the CF has in the cadet program.   Period.   That's why we defend it â “ because we think the Cadet program is an asset to the CF and that members of the CF should be involved in it.   Nothing more, nothing else...

How many of those deals are being reconsidered because of...

    Children and military training

There's a really good book about the Hitler Youth by H.W. Koch that I read a few years ago.   If my memory is correct, membership in the HJ became compulsory in 1936 but enforcement of that rule became more and more difficult as the war advanced.   Attendance varied a lot because many youth...

Why Acting Sub-Lieutenant, and Where are the Midshipmen & Ensigns (Merged thread)

Ensign was first an Army rank (it was called Cornet in the cavalry). The Ensign was the junior officer who carried the unit colours and they took their name from the flag they carried. In french, we use Enseigne de vaisseau for Acting Sub-Lieutenant and Sub-Lieutenant.
