    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

While I'd agree to a point...we do have some tossers in the trade so does everybody else. My whole philosophy has been that of a steel fist in a velvet glove. Of the soldier for the soldier. If I and my troops do their job right no one gets in crap...or hurt (Force Protection anyone?) Just...

    milcots rusting

Yeah, I know it seems like a lot but look at it this way....we absolutly need a veh to do our job. We can't do it on foot. 1 sect needs 5 vehs at least. We're a resource heavy element, we also need a lot of guns (C-9/C-6) don't even start comparing us to the U.S who are armed for bear.

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

Hey c'mon now. While it's true that MPO's do far more admin work then the NCM's both are creditialed peace officers. As for finding meaningful employment as a civvie cop after the CF...it depends on the force you're applying to as well as what sort of candidate you are. I know plenty of...

Jokes we play on new guys

Best one I ever saw. Brit RMP SM as one of his duties was a fire marshal. Had one of the new monkeys carry around a 5lb fire ext and a sealed envelope with the instructions that the camp RSM had to sign off the readiness report contained in the envelope. This poor kid was running all over Banja...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

The way I like to explain PRes trg vice Reg Role and trg is to use a cahir anology. Let me explain. Think of all the things that a MOC has to do.... this is the lumber when all of these things are put together they form a chair..capable of suppporting something. Now the PRes has less lumber. If...

Wow, Caused a commotion with my self-depreciating humour...guess I'll stick to listening to everyother trade make fun of us. Seriously if we can't poke fun at our own image then we've become the very tight asses people think we are. On that note here are some things I've learned to be true...

    Canadian MP in USA-Authourized?

Hi all, No we won't go down to the states to recover Canadian kit. What we'd is go through all sorts of levels of command, the US meatheads will seize if need be....we may be down for the sake of continuity and it's be shipped back. Visiting Forces covers when we deploy to places such as...

    Canada has better kit

Interesting how you you bring up Force Protection Matt, especially within the CS/CSS elements. With how things are going it's a good reminder to all that force protection is everyones responsibilty and how it's being put into place by what we are calling "Sheild" for now (I think). Now in order...

LSVW and ILTIS Replacements (Silverado & G Wagon)?

As someone who has put a lot of Km on the new MILCOTS both on the hwyway and the bush...I think I can safely say that it is a vast improvement over the Iltis. I now have more internal capacity, we can be more doctrinally in line with our allies with the 3 man jeep team. As for not going off...

Odds are the extra "militia" G Wagons do a Bison act...

Coming back to issue at hand ie. will the Gwagon do a Bison act.... As far as I was aware the only PRes element that was to get the Gwagon were the armd recce guys. When the whole veh replacement issue came up the armd elements lobbied for the Gwagon citing factors such as interoperability w/reg...
