Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

and then they put the next one 4 ft. from those lovely windows so no light gets in anyway. At least for singles and duplexes, stay with the lot, gut the interior and get a standard 2 or 3 bed design with your open concept living area and do them all the same. They aren't intended for re-sale...

now that is where factory built would come into its own. Bulldoze the site, erect the foundation on the same footprint so no delays with surveys and approvals and so on and then truck it in. PMO in a month

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

some high paid lawyer would argue successfully that this would be discrimination and the law would be overturned although I fully agree.

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

he is just fanning the flames. There are still several (used to be called) NDP types who can easily be bought off. There won't be an election. Much as I would love to see Carney and company gone, there are not enough voters who are afraid for Canada re: his policies particularly on resources...

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

Air force training begins with a simple single engine, fixed gear civilian modified aircraft and progresses in complexity and lethality from there. Why are so many even here reluctant to apply the same training process to the navy?

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

There are still a number of navies that maintain and utilize a large sailing vessel to teach seamanship and leadership. With budgets the way they are, there must be some rationale they are relying on to justify the expense And they definitely aren't armed except for maybe the odd 12 gauge.

    Maritime Coastal Defence Vessels (MCDVs)

this whole conversation is fascinating. Training essentials should have their own dedicated fleet but it doesn't have to be painted grey. The Coast Guard probably has the same problems: re officer training, ship handling, navigation so perhaps this is a place where the actual marriage can take...

    Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

The approach used by OW was probably always doomed to failure. Carney expected the impossible with his major projects concept: he expected the provinces come together and agree on a specific item, get all the locals on board that would be affected, and then present him with a list. Not going...

Canada moves to 2% GDP end of FY25/26 - PMMC

Has there been any movement/pressure on developing a government owned, civil operated fleet of RO-RO style ships as available naval auxiliaries? Would definitely come in useful, particularly on the east coast. Should be capable of navigating the complete St. Lawrence seaway. There should be...

Our North - SSE Policy Update Megathread

why can't you keep farming it? I can't imagine a radar set-up that requires 4000 acres; maybe a dozen and that is generous. Isn't what they need is to sterilize it for development i.e. not agriculture but estate homes, cottages etc.

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

they would if they were known to tell the truth once in a while. Think back on all the derogatory comments made by politicians regarding cadillac helicopters, the F35, the airbuses originally with Mulroney. I reiterate they have to start by presenting a united front on the need so it becomes...

The RCAF's Next Generation Fighter (CF-188 Replacement)

true but if both major parties sing the same song it won't matter whether they agree or not. Defense is the only portfolio, imho, that should be bi-partisan
