    Hamas invaded Israel 2023 Megathread

But serious for a moment. Anyone else have think we are on a knife's edge? Is it 7:00 am June 28, 1914? And in a hour or two the world changes? Or just another day in the 21 century? (this is not the 21st century I promised as kid)

    Transition to Municipal Police Force

My two cents....Because one really cares...LOL RCMP needs a top to bottom overhaul. Top management is too political. There is too much to go to. RCMP should just be Federal level. Or a whole new federal level dept. and RCMP can go back to policing the North and territories etc. My overall...

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

Also I think reform in the parties themselves would go a long way. I would start there. No big laws needs needed, no constitution problems. Start by just removing the need of the leader to sign off on riding members choices to run. By removing that one thing change could be great.

Trudeau Popularity - or not (various polling, etc.)

The first fix I would work on is less party control over members. No party control over local party nominations. Sitting MP's can boot the leader of their parties with simple majority vote. No whipped votes on non confidence bills. And stop omnibus bills. Those measures alone would go a...

    Hamas invaded Israel 2023 Megathread

Part of the problem is language. Take Isreali "settlers" ....that puts the image of wagons and people moving the Indians out in the western mind. In Israel it is closer to developers in Mississauga building houses and condos having problems with the land titles. And there are problems with...

    Canadian River Class Destroyer Megathread

Yes but the case of the CSC most the changes seem to make sense. We took a top of the line base design (many in the UK say their ship is under armed) and changed it for needs of program. The program was one class of ship to replace two and do the work of topline combatant. The USNI piece...

    Canada's tanks

Or go one step farther. Throw in the towel....Hand the US the DND budget. US let Canadians join the US forces and be done with it. I would bet the average MP, the majority of Toronto population and current PM would be over joyed will never have to think about nasty things like guns and...

    Avro Arrow RL-206

Even if Canada had been able to afford a few squadrons no one else was going to buy it. There would have been no follow on replacement. The Arrow would have served into the 70's and been retired. The RCAF would not been able to afford a upgrade path. What happen I would say was the best...

And if you really were crazy!?......Shhhh...don't say anything but Nova Bus is for sale....They are shutting their US ops. You can really go all Canadian and put an offer to buy the Nova and have them throw in Provost Car and rights to the Arquus and Mack catalog. Insta Canadian OEM with...

    Canada's tanks

If you wanted to look at it as a pure "Canadian" industrial project. Here is one thought. Use the Colt Canada model. GDLS would be the go to shop for heavy amoured fighting vehicles. LAV, IFV, and tanks. Then I would pick another one for light combat and/or logistics types. Believe it or...

    Canada's tanks

To be pedantic BRP makes the Rotax engine in Austria. BRP has no relation at all to the Bombardier Corp that makes just biz jets now. I would not worry about the BRP or Bombardier on any of this. BRP is not even trying in the defense much like there US competitor Polaris. They didn't...
