FWIW that graphic about fleet serviceability is garbage. All aircraft undergo maintenance - they are certainly not considered “out of service” or whatever label they had. SAR is mandated under the NSS to have one (1) LOT assigned to each region they support. By no means do the CH-149...

It’s not currently certified for flight in known icing - it’s just a certification issue. It has boots, props, scoops, etc.

To be fair, it’s not the approach (3 engine or OEI) that we worry about - it‘s what might happen if we end up having to go-around. Three engine asymmetric go-arounds with any sort of rudder issue is not a good day.

Sqns will need to deal with the loss of PYs in their flying cadre. The OpsO Major line number will no longer be a flyer (as it is currently at all flying Sqns). Same goes for 2-3 Captain flying positions - those line numbers will get given to the AOO CM. I’m already seeing it at the Wing...

To be fair - duty ops is a valid secondary duty for aircrew. Air Ops O’s are takimg over line numbers at the WOC, CAOC, plans, etc. At the line Sqn, they will eventually be your Sqn Ops cell - replacing the aircrew without offset. Sqn’s will lose a flying Major position, and up to 2x Captains.
