Eerie timing no doubt.
Funny how nobody in the MSM seeks actual SME input from these anonymous sources found on army.ca. That story could have been written a year ago.
Damn right it will - Moderna announced today that 2 jabs wasn’t very effective against Omnicron.
Hep B needs three jabs - if we need to keep boosting every year to eradicate this virus, sobeit.
Ambiguous reporting - “cracks in tail”. I’ll have to snoop around work and see if there is an actual DND report that stimulated this news report. Cracks in tail rotor seems more probable - similar to 149/146 growing pains. 149 ended up with a total re-design of the rotor blade assemblies.
It was a bit of luck that it happened while most live in personnel were at work. The injured folks were shift workers.
Evolving story - more details will be released as we get them. We are supporting the members affected.
Bit of a misnomer in the reporting (gasp) - the building wasn‘t unoccupied or a “former barracks building”. It was (emphasis on was) one of our main barracks for live-in personnel.
PMQ wait list isn’t going to move very much as we head into the winter. There are new one bedroom apartments that have just been built, plus other single quarters style RHUs on the Wing. If all else fails, you can join the rest of the Privates and 2Lts in the shacks. Talk to CFHA and then...
In reality it’s pretty easy. LWOP while being processed release under 5f. We were discussing the way forward on this today.
There is zero sympathy for those who wish to remain unvaccinated in the CAF - no grievance authority will support any redress attempts.
I suspect a lot of our differences are due to Provincial health orders. Comox is in BC - we follow what Bonnie Henry dictates. As a Mess, we have determined that if the bar taps are open, we fall under the “non-essential” activity and thus everyone must be vaccinated - we don’t distinguish...
I think Brihard already summed this up quite succinctly - but here’s my thoughts (definitely not telling you to shut up and obey).
The Mess is sometimes used for official CAF functions outside of the private military club setting - like H&A ceremonies or Working Ground, under those...
Concur - yet we’ve decided to go ”all-in” using this software? Readiness, CFTPO, leave and now career. EMAA is apparently dying soon - to be replaced by MM?
There is zero direction that states that.
The CAF follows local provincial health orders - just like how we follow liquor license laws. If you attend the Mess in its capacity as a drinking establishment, you show your proof of vaccination. There’s no privacy laws being impacted here, you...
I attended multiple Teams briefs this past week on Manager roles and the mechanics of PaCE. I didn’t like the comments that we needed to transfer people in and out of their position numbers on MM to reflect their employment during the year. Deploy on Op Neon for 2 months, send Mbr to...
Equally troubling in this thread is those people who are stating they don’t have MM access or it doesn’t work for them. I heavily recommend you get that figured out ASAP, PaCE is here and everyone should have filled out their JD and MAP already. Less than a week until your first debrief session.
How so? Mess activities are considered non-essential and thus require double vaccination proof. Mess exec ask members for their passports or CAF vax cards - pretty simple. If you don’t want to show proof - you don’t attend mess activities.
