NP….hope it helps…don’t blow off the QoL either. My lower back went from 34% to 40% just due to a QoL going from 1 to 2. It could mean 10’s of thousands tax free just for filing out a couple of forms. If you don’t know how ask your clinician or the Legion and fill it out thoroughly.
They will do nothing without a doctors assessment, you’ll be waiting in vain for months and then they will suddenly ‘withdraw’ your application. Forms are available on the MyVAC portal under ’Applications’ scroll down to Find a Form. Make sure your fill out the Q of Life form too. I am not...
Which is why I clearly said ‘if the rumors are true’.
Do you really believe the government isn’t going to f$&k this up? What policy implementation in the past has happened that they haven’t f$&ked up? Being slow on implementing a decision doesn’t mean they are being smart or careful about...
It was indeed….and the ‘underlying issue‘ was the inclusion of monthly allowances in the calculation of pay. The judge determined that they should be, and the government reluctantly accepted that - well, they settled out of court and did not appeal - which is akin to accepting the decision...
If the rumors are true about the PLD replacement, it’s a sizable pay bump. it will be an allowance which is treated and taxed as income. It better be factored into SISIP and VAC IRB or there will be another lawsuit coming their way very soon.,,,
‘… but I doubt any executives have their performance bonus tied to denying benefits.’
Maybe, but they sure as he11 aren’t giving out bonuses for approving the most disability claims either. Interestingly, VACs own numbers say they approve most applications at a rate of 80-90%…so, why the...
It’s closer to #2 than any of the others and you don’t need to give a directive, you can make your intent known without saying a word. I can show you my own VAC decisions that have even left case managers and BPA lawyers scratching their heads.
That isn’t the point. VAC isn’t the only department this is happening in, so it’s not a bug, but a feature. I have a hard time believing that all these departments are giving themselves a ‘buffer’ of billions of dollars just in case there are cost over runs. Does the CBC keep a couple hundred...
I have been diagnosed by a DND psychologist as having GAD and adjustment disorder In November, and submitted my claim soon after. I had no mental health issues for the first 45 years of my life, but I worry VAC will try to pin it on the death of a close family member 6 years ago, and not on the...
So, I have a lower back PSC at QoL rating 1 a certain percent I don’t want to mention as it may identify me. I went to he BPA and the lawyers reviewed new specialist info and determined I should be getting QoL 2 and a higher PSC. Has anyone had VAC refuse the BPA’s determination of an...
100%. A US veteran with a wife and 2 kids at 50% disability gets the equivalent of about $1600CDN/month - while the Canadian at 50% gets about $650. It’s so obscene…
