Shin Splints, Blisters, and PT [Merged]

This is the first time I've perused this thread, so if this has been covered before, oh well  8) with regards to the use of moleskin,  Paracowboy was absolutely correct in that the adhesive on moleskin is not up to the task. One thing that is up to the task, except under extreme conditions...

    Trade Options - Colour Vision

I've met several people who are varying degrees of colour blind, yet still able to pass the tests due to various means of compensation. Ask the recruiter if there's a position in the Medical det attached to the guns in Brandon...I know they've got one, it's headed by a FF/Paramedic, and they're...

Well, since the CF is liable for any injury or disability you might suffer as a result of your service, I suspect my colleagues may have a different opinion of your service. Anyway, all the best, hope it works out for you PMT

Over the years I think I've treated members of just about every trade in the CF, with perhaps a couple of hard sea trade exceptions (never done time on a Naval base) There are few, if any, trades that are suitable for someone who has a bad back.  In fact, thinking back to the Generic Task...

New Procedures for the medical in the recruiting process

My opinion, and my opinion only, but I hope not. No one here can answer that for you...that's why the file's on Borden for review.  It'll be up to the reviewing Medical Officers and whatever specialists they consult with on these matters to determine that. PMT

    TF 3-08 Information... Anyone?

No.  The 07 ones are commited for 2007. The odd numbered ones are being stood up to fill a specific deployment (currently TF Afghanistan), while the even ones are "contingency" TFs, should the government of the day assign additional missions or the odd ones suddenly require additional pers and...

Dutch Soldiers Stress Restraint in Afghanistan

You're seriously drawing a parallel between ISAF and the imperial forces of the UK, the Occupying Soviets, Alexander, et al? Wow, I can't believe you're buying the Polaris/Rideau/CCPA crap about NATO being an "occuping force" in Afghanistan, as opposed to an invited, UN sanctioned...

Where are the new jump bags?

+1 SMMT, but I'm tryin' to think ahead.  I don't think we always get to choose our spots, or what kind of day it'll be.

    Vimy Ridge no-shows

Sure, with 76% of immigrants being from Europe, and 2.7% from Asia in 1921 verus the 5% spread in 2001 http://www.canadaimmigrants.com/statistics.asp In fact, if you look at this table: http://www12.statcan.ca/english/census01/products/analytic/companion/etoimm/imm.cfm from Stats Canada you...

What I want for Xmas (Body Armour Related)

True.  But, there's so few med techs available that every single med-tech going on 1-08 will complete all necessary tng for an outside the wire gig...even if you're in a KAF position, you will probably find yourself outside at some point, maybe not with a coy, but probably in a FOB, or convoy...

Where are the new jump bags?

Correct.  That and quantity of items to be carried. For a drop leg?  I don't see it going anywhere on the TV, so that leaves me with a CTS Mag pouch drop leg on one leg, this pouch on the other, and a holster on my 3rd leg?  ;D  I guess it means it's available to both hands equally! Or is it...

Where are the new jump bags?

What I "wrote off" was the concept that one pouch would "fit the bill for all medics", not that actual pouch.  If you put 3 health care proffesionals in a room, you'll get 5 opinions on kit and equipment and techniques.  We can't agree on simple stuff that's been around for a couple of decades...

What I want for Xmas (Body Armour Related)

If your profile info is correct, I wouldn't worry about getting overseas in the immediate future. And, since all armour has a life expectency measured in years, not decades, I'd think about getting your BMQ, SQ, QL3, QL4, PCP, and skill consolidation done first.  So that, maybe, puts you in the...

    HMCS Huron To Be Sunk

The problem with this is that the ships that are sunk for reefs are carefully prepped; massive holes are cut in them first, almost all potential hazards for divers are taken out.  They pretty much eliminate any watertight compartments so they go down, in the right attitude, to the right...

Where are the new jump bags?

Bump. Any updates?  Contracts on MERX?  More feedback on the bags? I was recently given a TT FR Pouch, which seems a great way to organize 1-2 Pt worth of TCCC IA kit, but I can't find a reasonable way to attach it to my MoFOCR that will allow me to both work out of it, and employ pers wpns...
