if your really set on Combat arms then go with Skeletor's suggestion we had a young guy that wanted to join the Rifles, was a Rifles cadet but his eye sight wasn't good enough had the surgery and now he is with us. It just took a bit longer to get to where he wanted to be.
They are not Walts I'm sure all those medals, ribbons, and awards were given to them legitimately, they just don't mean anything. I bet the penalty for Walting in that country is quite severe! ;D
Don't confuse Regular Force and Reserve. Regular force must have completed Grade 10. Reserve as per my last post and you can be enrolled before you finish.
Yes you can be in cadets and reserve at the same time you just can't get paid for one while doing the other. For example you can not go on exercise as a Cadet with a reserve unit and get paid reserve pay.
Yes you can join and be in grade 10 you just have to have proof that you are maintain full...
I was only commenting on the above post about the whole agreeing to support a child thing and that you do not need to adopt the child to be eligible for common law
Not true I have 2 depend children from my wife's first marriage that I support and are not adopted by me. I also didn't have to wait 12 months to claim common law because of this. It took 6 months of memos because 2 clerks interpreted as having to adopt them, and because their Farther was paying...
Of all my years in I don't really remember being rushed at meal times on any course. I always make sure my courses, and staff understand the importance of meal time. Maybe it is just and Armour thing.
We found that when the Hussars were closed out in the early 90s and some of us "Tanker" size guys got to the Strats we couldn't really keep up to all the running an such that the "Boat" boys did..................but they couldn't do the heavy Maintenance on their new tanks either. We also found...
Until recently we were short every thing from cap badges to collar dogs to shoulder titles. Rank insignia is an other issue along with gabardines. As per a normal Army unit we only wear them if it is needed, however when parading with Marlant they want us to wear them regardless of the weather...
Same with white balaclava on our winter X a month ago while play OPFOR/OCT (with new budget cut can't afford both) I saw 4 little white round heads peering over the snow bank at night with out any night vision equipment. Didn't see the 5th one as he was wearing his green toque. White bottoms...
Actually it is 1 year after joining or trades qualification which ever comes first. As far as why this is I can only go by what I was told at the QM. Far to many people were getting in, getting their DEUs then getting out with in that first year. Now this might be only speculation on the supply...
Surprisingly the fuel cells on the 5 ton didn't light up when it got filled with holes in 94. I also don't remember seeing any tracers going through either.
Well there were some thing that resembled baffles in it but it was designed as a runway refueler not meant to stand up to the pot holed roads of Pac-man and Triangle route.
Thanks Pat
We knew that they wouldn't hold up when we did the trials on them, and that they were only meant to go forward far enough to fuel the first line units pod trucks. Some one in the Palace of illusion and confusion said that they could replace the HLVW pods and every one jumped on the...
