    My situation (RMC)

As a CELE officer, when I enrolled back in '06, my contract only goes till 16 July 2015.  That is nine years, not twelve and I am doing full four years at Real-U.

    My situation (RMC)

I mean they make the average a C. Arts is easy anyways hence why the higher grades there.

    My situation (RMC)

I find, at least in my university (Simon Fraser), that the average grade is a C, if you get average you get a C, if you do better you get a higher grade, if you do worse you get a worse grade.  So definitely, if you are in the B range you are doing good and should not worry and if you are...

    Subsidized Education - ROTP

I go to civvy-u, and I do my best to attend every lecture.  Stuff happens that causes me to miss a class occasionally but I absolutely hate it because then I feel like I am not going to understand any of the material for the final.  I end up sitting down with the textbook and the professor's...

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Stating that one believes something on this forum is much less of a hassle that stating something is a fact as there will always be one member, such as yourself in your last post, who will always challenge whatever is said.  Don't worry, when I actually have members who are working for me, I...

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

I also believe that ROTP members get paid more than a DEO member who has been in for an equivalent amount of time and is of an equivalent rank.

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Get ready for a lot of this.  Your entire career in the CF can be described as, "hurry up and wait".

    Paying Compliments (Saluting, Verbal Address)

We are officers, we may not have our commission yet so I do not see a problem with being called sir/ma'am. Expecting it is a whole different story. Then again I found when on EWAT at ASU Chilliwack that no one knew what to address me and a higher ranking NCO was referring to me as the "2Lt"...

    RMC Interviews

I had my interview back in 2006 and it was fairly long.  Took at least an hour and I was awake for 40 fourty hours at that time because of grad events.  I remember that I was asked about my different MOC choices what I thought they did, what I thought their training was and I was asked, since I...

    ROTP 2008 - Limbo for a year?

When I got sworn in 2006 for the ROTP program in a civvy u, I had my IAP put off that summer so for that summer I was on LWOP till I started school.  It wasn't bad, I had my last free summer, went camping, relaxed and got ready for school.  I was posted to my ULO who is in Chilliwack whereas I...

    Apple Vs. PC at RMC

I dunno if it is just me or not, but it seems like telling future officers to break federal laws seems to be against everything that an officer in this Canadian Forces stands for.  Seems like a bad idea to me.

Acceptances to RMC - When sent out?

Well... I went to ACS and I hadn't been given an acceptance yet. Then when they gave me an offer, it was for CELE and not Pilot.

    Apple Vs. PC at RMC

The thing with the Mac Air is that they didn’t have room for a replaceable battery or an optical media drive. Or a firewire port. Or an ethernet port. Or more than one USB port. But being that it’s an ultraportable, it’s not the sort of thing that really is supposed to stand alone- it’s a...

    Apple Vs. PC at RMC

At this point in time, Vista is a horrible operating system. As well, you can't just quickly uninstall Vista and put in XP because of the drivers.  The manufactures made it so that there are no XP compatible drivers for the hardware the comes installed with your vista system, so you can't go...

    Apple Vs. PC at RMC

There's a very little learning curve from going to windows to linux.  I did it in a day.  As for your word documents, just get open office.

    Apple Vs. PC at RMC

I use linux but I am in Computing Science so it is almost required for our comp sci assignments.

    RMC Interviews

The year that I was accepted, RMC only had room for two candidates from my province, British Columbia.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I have my Blue Cross Card, I've had it for a while.  I don't even know where my provincial health care card is now so that is not a problem.  The Clerk at the ULO told me I can just go see my family doctor but I think it would be better if I just went to the MIR at Jericho.

ROTP at Civilian University 2004 - 2018 [Merged]

I should have probably mentioned that my support base, Area Support Unit Chilliwack does not have an MIR, and for the members there, they have to go to a local civilian clinc in town.  I believe the closest MIRs to Vancouver are at CFB Esquimalt or CFB Comox which are both on the island...
