Syria and Iran caused Hurricane Sandy

That's what the current regimes in Syria and Iran would love the most - takes out most of the opposition comms means.

Syria and Iran caused Hurricane Sandy

That's it, we've had enough, they must pay for this... I lost cable for 3 hrs!!!  we can't let them get away with this.

    The John10 Show

:goodpost: (I seem to be using those too much today already) And in a sense, I see John's position and do agree that the general reaction has been a bit over the top. :whiteflag: :sarcasm: CHIMO!

    SKOP

yeap, my course put one by the tree lot near the ammo compound in base (Chilliwack). It was linked with the demo comms trenches and tunnels. That was in 87 - yikes! I think one of the troops in 2CER put one up in 91 or so. Chimo!

    The John10 Show

you're quibbling over semantics that are pretty much irrelevant and making assumptions that do not follow from what the article said. And he confessed and agreed over the findings. Are you the WO in question?  ;) Anyway, the real problem is that proper proceedings could not take place due to...

    Petawawa bridge construction

Yes, but nothing stops a commander from getting more panels and parts from EETs from other areas iot go up 2 or 3 layers or buy the longer transoms (multi-lane) (with higher enough approval for say an emergency like in Nfld after the hurricane) Also, some provinces (BC, ON, MAN I believe) have...

Close Combat Vehicle: Canada to buy another AFV (& keeping LAV III & TLAV)

The infantry corps does not and will not operate in a bubble....  :deadhorse:  we will need engineer variants as well as it is very unlikely that we will get pioneers back any time soon, if ever... :stirpot: Moot point anyway, Kirkhill should have asked "how many 40mm..."  ;) (I was looking...

    Petawawa bridge construction

What particular modular bridge are you referring to? That collapsed bridge doesn't look like it was a failure of the bridge itself but maybe the abutments or was hit by a flood. ACROW might be a bit more expensive than most of the "modular" bridges out there but can't beat it for versatility...

    Petawawa bridge construction

We only hold single lane in our inventory; however, if required, we could source transoms for up to 3 lanes. Check the link above for some neat things you can do with XS700 panels. CHIMO!

    Petawawa bridge construction

Not speaking for 2CER but, yes of course, we could put a bridge right alongside in a few days - after all the approvals and right of way are sorted out - the parts are there (may require a few extra panels from other stocks). But that size bridge, the ACROW...

Marine makes Sapper history ... twice

I know of at least one Canadian female engineer that completed the course successfully about 1.5 or 2 years ago from 5 RGC. She did very well too. CHIMO!

    Petawawa bridge construction

In addition to what Bluebulldog mentioned, it takes about 3 wks for load bearing concrete on piers and bridge abutments to cure sufficiently before putting dynamic loads on them (with some additives it can be faster however)

    Improved Combat Uniform

Bottom line is that safety gear is designed in a certain way to be effective and it should be worn that way. As for combats, it would suck if I had to wear cotton underneath the combat shirt.  :camo:

    Improved Combat Uniform

Really? what does that add to the debate? CA and I seem to be arguing a similar thing but from diff slants: The need for FULL protective gear.

Caption says: Sleeves down when refueling. Meaning he had his nomex sleves, if he was wearing it, rolled up. Slide 14 list a few characteristics of Nomex including that it does not support combustion, will not melt  and low heat conduction. cotton under layer will be more comfortable and help...

A new Avro Arrow (or Super Arrow) instead of the F-35 (Merged thread)

duhhhh!!!! because it is a .6 scale... all you have to do is multiply by 1.6 and you will get the specs for the actual thing. Factor in a modest 30%  (multiply again by 1.3 or 2.08 total) improvement in performance of the components (powerplant, weight, etc.) over the development period and you...
