According to ChatGPT, the alleged number of EO's signed by Joe Biden using Autopen (this is based on visual examination of the signatures which appear to be identical) is 96 of a total of 162 EO's signed by Biden during his presidency. It would be interesting to know what those EO's were but...
Sounds like the US will soon expand its anti-drug strikes to targets on land
Trump says US land action against alleged drug trafficking networks in Venezuela will start ‘very soon’

Zelensky’s top aide and key peace negotiator resigns after anti-corruption raid of his home
While I think Zelensky was/is the leader Ukraine needed/needs during this war, my guess is that like Churchill, when the war ends and elections...

That's quite a bit to pack on an island that is just under 29 square km (about 2/3 the size of CFB Esquimalt). Would be a pretty juicy target for an opening strike by China with not many places to hide.
Whether the Government decides to go with Gripens or not I think it would be a great idea to still pursue a partnership with Saab...especially the R&D aspect. Partner with them on their CCA programs and UAV's like the Skeldar V-200 which we already use. As you mentioned, encourage even closer...
The Orca replacement "plan" and stationing them on the Great Lakes is an idea that VAdm Topshee has said he's possibly like to see. Maybe after some actual decisions are made on what the Orca replacement might look like, where specifically they'd like to see them stationed and what exact role...
Presumably if we're intending to use them for some sort of law-enforcement role along the Great Lakes they would have RCMP, CBSA or some other law enforcement officers aboard to conduct the actual law enforcement and the RCN crew would be in support.
Apparently according to Wikipedia the USGC already has armed cutters on the Great Lakes:
So the way I read it there would be no issues having light weapons on the vessels so long as the ships are being used for constabulary not military purposes.
