That's funny, I always though Hell Week was only for the instructors... It occurs during the first week of BMQ once they realize they have to deal with 50+ ninja/sniper/jtf wannabes for the next couple of weeks ;D
You guys must all be too young then... haven't seen one post referring to the old Avalon Hill Bookcase games (which to me, is what comes to mind when you state 'table top strategy games', though The Longest Day's maps would never fit in a table!).
Panzer Blitz, Panzer Leader, Squad Leader...
Ah! Another convert from way back.... "Uncle Al the Duelist's Pal".
God that was a great game... small and simple too (the original game that is, which game in the small black box). Come to think of it, that would make a great candidate for the 'ol' Beer and Pretzels stuff in the bottom of...
Nope, quite popular at some surplus stores. Army Outfitters in Toronto seems to always have a ton of new boots in stock from Swats to other brands, can't hurt to check with them first.
Woah hang on here, I should at least get a cut as the originator >:D
My take will go towards a very worthy cause... reducing the price of Innis & Gunn beer and putting it in cases! God that stuff is bottled ambrosia...
(if you haven't tried this stuff yet, head to your local Booze Can...
For Danners, try Lebaron or Tetragon (http://www.tetragon.ca/Products.cgi/search?category=Footwear).
Bass Pro might even have them (it would be on your way down the 400, so might as well stop in to be safe).
I seem to have lost the link to the PDF of the Macleans article, but here is the online version:

He found the badges on http://www.forces.gc.ca/admmat/dglepm/badges-insignia/army_trade_badges_e.htm
According to the images for "RECONN", they are all Infantry badges judging by the MOC (and the daggers is a good give away):
RECONN - MOC_031_RECONN_1.jpg, MOC_031_RECONN_2.jpg...
Go buy some LARGE Zip-Loc bags, the double zipper ones. Fold your fleece top and stuff it in the bag, press all the air out with your knees and then seal. It will tighten up just like a vacuum sealed bag and be MUCH smaller.
The pants are too large to fit in the large zip locs though with a...
Thanks for the update! It turns out that PRT Sgt. is in my unit, so I assume I'll get the true story at some time or another.
As for being part of a larger film, that would explain alot. They only gave it a small slot on the show.
Many thanks for the link!
The part about him getting fired from his job and then it turning into a PR nightmare for the company is pure gold for people like myself that may run into issues trying to get leave for courses and to serve overseas.
They should have a look at this fellows setup (he's a Canadian as well). He cut the cockpit out of an RC Airplane and installed a basic pan & tilt with wireless video camera (all home brew) and then used cheap Video glasses and a simple gyro to control it all. Watch the entire video, he lists...
I finally saw it tonight... it certainly did not paint us in a very good light, except for the little "exchange" with the US Special Forces types... ;D
For those that have not seen it, here are some of the points that we picked up on. Again, as per the previous poster, the authors of the film...
Hmmm, I think I was in that particular session as well. His speech was rather 'inspiring' wasn't it, it was nice to see a bit of 'the old army' sneak out of an instructor (I just hope he didn't catch any flak for it, he's a good fellow and it was well delivered and timely).
Some of the comments in the synopsis of the video are disturbing (however they are anonymous):
I haven't seen the video yet but did we somehow come off as 'none too swift'?
They show that grip on Viking Tactics website (one of the two distributors listed for Cadex).

However they are in the US (Fayetteville, NC)
