How's the food in Canadian dining facilities ? I found some Army dining hall's were very good but as a rule the best were USAF and Navy.

For avid fishermen and hunters ,Alaska duty is choice duty compared to say Ft Bragg. While Ft Lewis is warmer and rainy I would take Alaska.
