Congratulations to one and all. BZ! Young Pte O'Rourke was at the Red Friday Rally last week, it was an honour to be able to applaud him and his bravery.

Thoughts and prayers for family and colleagues.
IIRC, there is only the Res AF Pipe Band in Georgia and the Cadet pipe band at Westpoint ( I think the Citadel still has one). Most of the pipe bands were put out to pasture by the 1970s.
Why not suggest to her to try the reserves and when she can, do a few night classes her HS diploma? While she's waiting for her app acceptance, she can train.
Bigmac, go back and read that article I posted by the Brits. It'll assure you that the load bearing gets better with the more load bearing one does (check the references the article give as well - it's all good stuff). Your niece will be fine providing, as a good uncle that you are, you get...
MJP, It's not all that different here in Ottawa. Our house sold (signed, sealed and delivered kind of sold) in 12 hours of it hitting the MLS realtor's site (it never made in onto the public site). The average house here is taking about 48 hours to sell - any longer and it's either a deficient...
Since he'll be on his way quite soon to the UK, the museum will have to come up with another excuse for him not to be able to wear it. (he asked if he could wear his medal again - not just see it)

and a list of their kit replacements...http://members.shaw.ca/rcmpvets.calgary.policy/kit_replacement.htm
The two chaps standing with their back to the cam look like they are wearing the red blazer that the RCMP vets wear in lieu of a mess dress. Give me a few and I'll drag out my mum's photo albums and see if I can find a pic her division's formal functions. I remember seeing that kit a few...

There is a group out of Calgary that work towards preserving the NWMP history...
"K" Troop. You might want to ask them. ...
I don't which I find more offensive, your twice used term of lottery winnings in context to the death of these people's son or the idiot that told me, "You're young, you'll get married again, the girl will have a replacement daddy soon enough." I can't decide which is worse.
