    Foreign Postings

Thanks again Garb. BB, in reference to your post, where in Europe is that NATO LOG Major job located? Are all NATO positions generally held in Belgium? I would assume there are more opportunities for postings with countries that make up the commonwealth, however, can you secure placements...

    Foreign Postings

Haha. Thanks garb, great info. BB very same to you. Gives a good idea of whats out there, even if it is years of experience away...good to have something to work towards. Though I do actually have a couple of questions after that... What do CDA and MSG stand for? I'm getting better, but...

Granted. Hence; "I'm probably getting way too specific for where I'm at right now, just really interested in the potential." Key: really interested.

    Foreign Postings

For those fortunate enough to secure these types of positions, what consideration is given to family members? Does the CF move your spouse/dependents? What about housing? A car? I'm probably getting way too specific for where I'm at right now, just really interested in the potential.

    Foreign Postings

Very interesting.. Dapaterson, at what rank/level of experience are individuals generally eligible for such positions? I assume it again relates to the position being applied for, but is there a general rule of thumb? Captain and up? Thanks for the input.

    Foreign Postings

Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with foreign postings such as embassies, NATO HQ, exchange postings. That type of thing. Are these positions equally available to all members of the CF? IE. Would an Airforce Officer have the same opportunities as a Navy Officer given their...

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Infamous-p hit the nail on the head. Keep in mind that in the end everything on these boards with regards to ASC is merely speculation, even the guys who run the tests in Trenton don't know whats entailled in scoring candidates. Long story short, try not to overthink this. Things get really...

I crashed my level circuit the first time.......went completely off the track lol. They came and reset me and then I was fine. Try not to get wound up if u make mistakes....keeping your cool will go a long way. I used to recite (is that how its spelt?) what the mission listed on the screen so...

    Slotted for PFT

Just out of curiousity, why do you suggest low wings? To make the experience more closely mimick what the grobb will be like? Or is there a performance difference between the two wing placement types?

    Aircrew Selection/ACS (Merged)

Like all the others have already said, the best advice for CAPSS is an open mind. Trying to prep. using real flight time won't help much since CAPSS handles MUCH differently. If anything, I'd recommend reading up on the instruments and understanding how they relate to one another-->having a good...

    VOT/VOR Spots

Thanks for the response CDN. Was also wondering, how are selections made? For example, is experience outside the military taken into account (IE. a PPL for someone OT'ing to PLT), or do they just consider your performance within a military setting such as courses, academics, ect.? I'm hoping...

    VOT/VOR Spots

Just wondering if anyone has any idea as to how many VOR spots there are each year? I'm assuming it is trade specific, but are there any given number of vacancies or is it a pre-determined number of spots for each fiscal year?

Done ACS and CAPSS, Will i not get an offer???

He must be a top gun ace... On my first "climbing turns" session in capss the cpu was yelling warnings at me for like 4 different parameters at once....... Its really tough (maybe even impossible) to get through the sim without even incurring 1 warning....

    BOTP

CDN Aviator, Sorry I didnt realize training was specific to entry plan... I thought it was standard across the board. I am ROTP Reg force. The thing is I can fast-track through this coming fall semester and take 2 additional courses so that I would effectively graduate the end of 1st semester...

    BOTP

Just a quick question here; Does BOTP only run during the summer, or can you get on courses throughout the year? I only ask because I may have the opportunity to finish school sooner than expected, and it would be nice to get through basic training if I don't have to wait until its run again...

Done ACS and CAPSS, Will i not get an offer???

That would be a feasible option if your still civy. I'm already in ROTP... and I'm still green so once I learn how the system works I'll figure out a way to get there sooner or later...

Done ACS and CAPSS, Will i not get an offer???

Rowshambo, I'm not sure about the specifics of the regulations. As far as I know, if you are already a member of the CF and you fail CAPSS, any subsequent applications for the PLT MOC are denied. At least thats the way it was explained to me, and thats what the "book" says. I think what your...
