    New Reserve MP QL3

Unless you are from 3 Div. 1 MP Regt has not entertained, AFAIK, any requests by reservists to attend Reg Force QL3. I'm not arguing one way or another, but if you are out West and reading this, might as well forget about getting a badge as a reservist.

Which is why it has not been easy to find. I'm aware the program is defunct, but my request still stands.

    The Military Police [MP] Superthread

Mods: two per room, 4 per floor with a shared bathroom. One common room on the main floor with a TV and a fridge. Hot in the summer (no AC), but otherwise just fine. It's not the Yukon Lodge, but I don't mind them at all. I've been in Borden on course 6 times now, the lack of a car is a much...

Picture frames @ BMQ (yes, enough for a merged topic)

Meh, had to do the same on PLQ a few years back (jezuss, that was 7 years ago already). I just left the picture that came with the frame.

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Ohhhhhh, can you imagine the headlines:"Soldiers. In our back yards. Soldiers with guns. In our backyards. Guns in our backyards." :D I'm totally down, but somehow I doubt that would fly with most people.

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

So much this. In my organization our parent company is a reserve entity on paper, but is really staffed by RegF pers (well, there is one class B slot, but he's been class B so long, he might as well be RegF). Often my job is to manage troops expectations. Having a RegF cadre who doesn't...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

I'd be quite OK with 39 MP Coy with 10, 11 and 12 MP Platoons.

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Building sand castles, this is what the reserve is about, IMHO, sadly. Those of us who stick around will see an endless parade of troops and officers. The majority will serve and leave. Some will achieve greatness, leaving us to mourn their departure. Some will stick around, for better or...

Divining the right role, capabilities, structure, and Regimental System for Canada's Army Reserves

Our recruiting allotment his year: 5 pers. This does not even keep up with attrition. I've warned of this since late 2010, when we were full (54 pers on paper) to now where we are ~24 on paper and paraded 9 all rank for a week end ex. All I want for Christmas are a bunch of new troops. 5 doesn't...

Calgary police patrol rifle stolen from an off-duty officer’s private vehicle

Why do we insist on hammering on the victim? I hope that due care was taken when he left his vehicle unattended, but right now we don't have any indication of where the case was stored, what kind of vehicle it was or any other pertinent details. Someone from CPS told me it looks bad on the...
