I am moreso on edge after the events hit home for me last week. I continue to believe in the mission in Afghanistan...and increasingly so with each sacrifice that is made. But with every roto I have a new list of people to pray for, more friends/family in the sandbox....and for some reason they...
Wow, I wish I could be there to see it all.
I know my hubby will be floored when he sees it while traveling with the hearses.
Shows of support and respect like that make me very proud to be Canadian.
Cheers,
CAW

I've been waiting for Jeff's name to be released. Somehow, for some reason, part of me refused to believe the finality of his death without seeing his picture. I think it was my little form of denial.
My husband will be escorting Jeff home to his family. He was our friend and a really dedicated...
My fears have been realized. It has hit far too close to home this time. One of the fallen had made regular appearances on my livingroom couch and had easy access to my beer fridge.
He went through training with my hubby from the start...they even joined through the same CFRC on the same day...
My heart bleeds for the families of the fallen. Knowing and currently experiencing the mixed feelings that come with "being in the home stretch" of a tour, and then hearing news of this nature is very very sad.
My deepest, and sincerest condolences are sent as I sit here holding my breath...
Commander of TF Afghanistan, Brig Gen Tim Grant is currently live on CTVNewsnet, confirming the 6 NATO soldiers were Canadian.

I was just thinking that about the BFT, as I have a friend and neighbor, who is larger than I ever was at 9 months pegnant, who passed his BFT with no issues...but I'd hate to see the guy have to do a fitness assessment similar to that which my personal trainer puts me through every three...
Okay Wes, I've spit my beer all over my computer (that's alcohol abuse where I come from) and now I am wretching at the mental image I am left with.
Thanks much!
Hubby sent home some "marble" goblets.
Though they are beautiful and I love them, they are not marble as my wine ate into the inside and made it pourous and rough. So now I have four pristine Sandstone (I believe) water goblets and two beautiful on the outside not as nice on the inside ones...
Perhaps the people of Canada are looking for the climax that we have come to automatically expect and is rampant throughout our culture.
This article makes me think of an email I recieved (with the instruction to post to the blog) from hubby.
It seems to me that the people of Canada want to...
As hubby has told some of my self-conscious friends: We work out while looking our worst...so that when it counts we can look our best.
My hair is extremely short, so when I go to the gym I usually have a nasty case of bed head (if I haven't donned my Army.ca hat). I don't shower before going...
Sssshhhhh, stop giving them ideas! Though, its not like they haven't likely thought of that already.
It is dispicable...especially to me, the mother of a 5.5 year old, who watches the news (his choice, he puts CTVNewsnet on everymorning before I get up) and asks me why the "bad guys' team blows...
You mean bridge tokens don't come standard in military vehicles in Hfx?? ;D
IMO, they should all be equiped with the paypass transponder thingy...that way it is never out of one pers' pocket and has less paper work than reimbursment of funds. Just a direct bill.
