    Application process during highschool

I would go into the CFRC and apply right now, making sure you tell them you can't go away for BMQ until after your graduate high school. In my experience, they're good like that and they recognize you're a human being and may have other priorities already in place. The process could take quite...

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

Ack... thank you. I am currently in the PRes so I'd need to do a CT + OT. The joys of that are immense, I know. So I'm looking at a contract of at least 5 years. Now, stupid question, and this applies to all trades, but since I'm a PRes I'm not very aware of RegF contracts. Does the contract...

Difference between reserve's part-time BMQ and summer full-time BMQ?

Well, if you're in school, whether that be university/college/high school, then you definitely need to think about doing part-time. If you honestly don't think that you'll have the time to maintain your studying/papers/whatever, while being away on the weekends (plus your one weekday parade with...

    AESOp ( MOC 081)

Apologies for this if it annoys any of you... Is there a contract for AESOP? I looked on the MOSID/MOC list and it just says "No VIE". I searched and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

    Joining the reserves during university

You'll work one night a week for usually 3 hours on a weekday, and one weekend a month (although not even every month; especially when you're a brand new Pte!). Obviously you won't make enough money to live off of so you'll have to have another job anyway... unless you live at home. You'll have...

Difference between reserve's part-time BMQ and summer full-time BMQ?

Reserve BMQ, both part-time on weekends and full-time in the summer, are the exact same. You learn the same stuff. Granted, you may have to travel a while to use the gas hut and the range on a part-time course, because you aren't in a Camp/Base, but that's about it. On my full-time BMQ we did...

    Leave for Wedding

Thanks everyone for your help. With my qualifications right now, I would have to do Reg Force BMQ. However, judging from the other soldiers at my unit doing CT's, and reading on this site, CT's take a very long time. I am hoping to CT over to Infantry so I can only assume that would make the...

    Leave for Wedding

No, I haven't made any decision yet, hence my question. It's not really an easy choice, yes I want to get into the Reg Force ASAP but it's my sister's wedding and (hopefully  ;) ) it only happens once.

    Leave for Wedding

I have searched for this before but didn't find any definite answers. And the search function seems to be down at the moment. I want to put my CT in to the Regs and do BMQ as soon as possible. The earliest I could do it would be near the end of June, start of July. However, I have a siblings'...

    Army Reserve TRAINING

BMQ can be done in the summer, and if you join later in the year, you will go in the summer. Then SQ (BMQ-L) is done, almost always in the summer. Then you do your DP1. All 3 courses take a month each to do.

It's not rocket science. Those online study guide things are a cash grab... but all the power to you if you think it'll help you pass.

    Question regarding applying for reserves

You already got your answer... You can join the Reserves at age 16 as long as you stay in high school full time. You can join at 17 or above without having to do that. Simple? You can join the reserves at age 16 and up.

    Not sure when BMQ starts

Yes... I wouldn't have told you to if you weren't. They will show you how to dress properly once you're there regardless if you look like you have half a brain or none at all.. but why show up unprepared.

    Not sure when BMQ starts

Yes. Get rid of any lint, threads, strings, etc. on your uniform. That includes your tac vest, fleece, winter gear, etc. Don't worry about the undergarment green t-shirts so much. You should have your beret formed and with no lint on it. The capbadge goes over the left eye and the extra...

    Not sure when BMQ starts

Yes, BMQ, SQ, and DP1 can be done in the summer... probably lots more too. You will probably do SQ right after BMQ on weekends, and do your trades course in the summer. Your unit will let you know, though.

You could always join the Reserves right now while you're still in school, and see if you like the military lifestyle.

    Not sure when BMQ starts

Didn't even see that you were on part time BMQ, nevermind to what I said! You'll be tired, but you probably won't be passing out haha. I did mine full time in the summer; and five hour energies/red bull really did save my hind a few times. Those 18 hour days are a lot longer and more painful...

    Not sure when BMQ starts

Oh lordy yes. A GOOD quality pair, if you don't, you'll regret it. Don't get a cheap pair at Walmart. I don't recommend combination... I recommended key locks. Easier, quicker, and you can't forget the combo. Just don't lock the key in your locker... haha.....  :-\ The sleep thing is the key...

Pay: Statements, Backpay, Benefits, Deductions (Taxes, T4), Deployed ect... [MERGED]

I know if you're in the reserves and you're doing BMQ and you already have your degree, you should be a 2LT while doing basic training, getting paid as a 2LT, and have your 1 big bar on your epaulette/slip on. You will be an OCdt if you're working on your degree, but don't have it yet.
