    DMedPol Question

The first part of DAA's post is correct. There will be a promotion "pro forma" that your local MO can sign off, essentially stating ghost you meet the minimum medical standards for your MOSID. However, D Med Pol is not a rubber stamp - while your MO recommends a category, seconded by your...

    Earplug Noise Reduction Rating

Likely a NRR of around 19-21, but I don't have a pair handy to check.  Why do you ask?

    Bayonet question?

No, we can. The Hollow Point in precision 7.62 ammo is a result of the manufacturing process. Not specifically designed to wound. This has been previously discussed in one of the threads.

    Little Honking Ships......

That's similar to the rationale used when we acquired the Upholder class submarines. The Victoria class issues and resultant political fallout are one reason why we're not likely to purchase second-hand vessels - of any type - any time soon.

    Little Honking Ships......

That would be my observation, as well, after having served on both coasts. Perhaps our RCN colleagues will comment, but this seems to be consistent with the MARLANT-centric culture that looks backwards at the Battle of the Atlantic instead of future brown water, littoral ops.

    Lariam (Generic name Mefloquin) Reaction

Just a point for clarification - if you were assessed by a Sgt, then they are a Med Tech and not a PA. All PAs are  ranked WO/PO1 upon successful completion of training.

    Compassionate Status

And I suspect this cycle is about to be repeated, with the number of available posting credits for cost moves to be significantly decreased in order to deal with (ongoing) fiscal pressures.  Great if you're already posted somewhere you like, otherwise...

    Compassionate Status

Was he a LS steward at the start of his 15 year geo-lock?  Some folks get geo-locked for extended periods, but typically they are more senior (both NCM and officer) and are the exception rather than the rule.

    Compassionate Status

I suspect you will not meet the criteria for a compassionate posting, since your personal circumstances will not be resolvable in a reasonable period.  You'll need a social worker assessment as part of the process.  A VOT is not a long-term solution, either, as others have noted.  If you want...

    CombatDoc --> ArmyDoc

I will be changing names from CombatDoc  to ArmyDoc. I do not wish to be confused with the author of the book "Combat Doc" since I am not him.

    Movie Trailer- Lone Survivor

At least they're having The Discussion about whether or not it was worth the human cost. What struck me when watching the Jake Tapper interview was the clear emotion in the voices of both Tapper and Wahlberg.

Placed on my third(3) T cat- Whats next?

Yes, D Med Pol will review the specifics of your case.  ALL TCATs beyond 12 months require D Med Pol review.  They will either concur with the recommendation of the sending MO for a 3rd TCAT, or decide that it is time for a PCAT which they would then assign.  The nature of the medical condition...

The brown Temperate Combat Boot (AKA: Mk IV Cbt Boot) - No longer CADPAT

The first step would be to discuss your concerns with I/C Clothing Stores. Request that they authorize local purchase of combat boots for you, given the system's inability to supply. If that gets no joy, write a memo to your COC explaining your inability to obtain adequate issued footwear and...
