AFAIK, there is no hard and fast policy stating that 2 x 30 days MELs = TCAT. Each patient is assessed individually on a case-by-case basis, and the prognosis (ie outlook for recovery to full duties) drives the decision on whether a TCAT is required.

If neither the defence budget nor the number of CAF personnel increase, it is indeed a zero sum game. More personnel for cyber and SOF would require a reduction from some other line of operation (1 x infantry battalion, for example). More F35s could equal fewer surface combatants for the RCN...

An interesting read, but this explanation of a board foot answer is completely incorrect, as any woodworker who buys raw lumber knows. A board foot is a measure of wood volume, and is equivalent to 144 inches cubed. For example, a board 12"x12"x1" is one board foot, as is a board 12"x6"x2".

The 45mm (44.70mm according to specs) refers to the distance from the bottom of the case to the top of the shoulder. Similar concept to 7.62 x 51mm NATO vs 7.62 x 39 Russian ammo. Google "5.56 x 45 ammo dimensions" for some good images of case dimensions.
