I suspect the family doctor chose to ignore the vision requirement, or did not understand what it meant. Someone with one eye certainly would have been V5, and thus unsuitable for para training according to the requirement. The courts disagreed, believe it was a human right tribunal.

History also proves that her platoon mates were hand selected, indeed were already fully trained NCOs,  so HRH would not have to associate with the wrong kind of girls. And she got to go home to Windsor Castle every night. I doubt her peers were afforded the same quarters. What a sacrifice!

I am not a lineman but have done my time hanging off a tree wearing climbers/hooks/spikes whatever you want to call them, and wearing them with some boots is agony. I do have a pair of  Royers, and also a pair of the Five Star Generals, but over the years by far the best pair of boots I bought...

A year plus from now, that seems reasonable. What did they expect in the Army? My problem I was recruited into the Navy, something I felt nothing for, and spent too much time training there for naught before donning a green uniform.

Said better by someone more current than me.... I also wore the safety Kodiak issued some years ago and it did not fit very well, so the next pair I had were Terra" Mercenary" which fit a lot better. Keep trying, there is a boot out there somewhere for you that fits,
