    Direct Entry Officer

Bingo, that's why the trade column is empty beside that entry. Basically that document is just telling you that if you make it to colonel or up you don't have to follow the med requirements of your trade that you started out in. (I think)

    One Tax for the CF.

It won't happen. If the CF had a standard tax rate across the board one of two things would happen: 1) You would find yourself living in a province (like Quebec) paying less taxes than your neighbours which would not be fair seeing as you all enjoy the same provincial services. 2) You would...

Another case of issued kit on E-Bay?

I am transferring from army res to air force reg, I had to turn in all my kit but they let me keep all foot wear (combats, gortex boots, parade boots, oxfords) and next to skin stuff.  It's not on my charge. The funny thing is when I go to St. Jean they will probably have to issue me new ones...

    More M777's on the way

Well if you write a letter to Santa now you won't get it as a present until exactly a year from now. Wow, that would be considerably faster than our current procurement system.  ;D

    inside look at RFT

Not to quibble but you are an Officer Cadet, you are not an Officer. Be careful, some people take offense to you calling yourself that. Just a friendly warning.

They also watch the news I am sure. Hell, some of them probably troll this very forum.

    Canadian Troops Surround Taliban

I don't think this applies to suicidal maniacs. The other concern of course is that they will drop their arms and try to disguise themselves as innocent villagers.

A Sgt I once knew had a great saying for moments like this; "It's a good day for a fire mission" Good luck.

Another case of issued kit on E-Bay?

No, the gov't hates seeing people stealing from them. The ice breaker thing was perfectly legal.

Wearing of Iron Ring in uniform?

Thank you all. I was curious, I don't really wear it that often and I certainly would never wear a ring out in the field.

Another case of issued kit on E-Bay?

Right, cause everyone who sells stolen items or commits fraud on Ebay is always caught..............

Wearing of Iron Ring in uniform?

To those who have a degree in engineering; are you allowed to wear your iron ring in uniform? I know an exception is made for a wedding ring, I was wondering if a similar exception exists in this case. Thanks

Queston re:' 'vested rights to pay'

I would strongly advise against this. Firstly of all, good luck finding the pay people at NDHQ. Second of all, it is not their job to answer your questions. You are suppose to go through your chain of command, not circumvent everyone just so you get your way. Lastly, if you do find someone and...
