The advantage of a shuttle is that they will pick you up right at your house with all the luggage, there will probably be other passengers, and take your right to the airport. No need for messing around on public transit with a bunch of bags. Although you really shouldn't have that much luggage...
You could also try reading all of CBI 204. It's all in there and it explains all the different reasons for different rates of pay. Particularly 204.211.
Oshawa to Pearson in rush hour or taxi from Pet to Ottawa, hmmmmmm. I actually wonder which one would take longer.
Magravan: Here is a list of shuttle operators. I looked up one of them and it estimated $60 to get from Oshawa to Pearson. Don't know about the rest, anyways, it's a thought.
Factor in the long line ups at the airport, traffic on the 401 during rush hour and not so much sleeping in. ;D
I am just going to roll out of bed (hopefully not my own but it probably will be) get in my car and head for STJ
The reserves, to the absolute best of my knowledge, do not force anyone to go on operations. This of course could change at any moment (highly unlikely with the current political situation) but if it did change chances are conscription would not be far to follow.
If you don't like the reserves...
"I am being sworn in tomorrow." Are we all happy now?
What date is everyone showing up to St. Jean? My course (ser 0087) starts the 8th of jan and the offer says I should show up no later than the 7th at 1500. My recruiter going down on the 6th would probably be best.

avionic systems tech
electro-opto tech (land)

That's a unit thing, talk to your unit. Your unit QM is the only people that issue your kilt. How do I know? I use to work in a Q at one of those highlander units.
I don't think your kilt is classified as 'DEU'. From my understanding (someone else please confirm or correct me) your DEU is the...
I would be inclined to disagree with you on that one. Having been in quite a few engineering jobs and talking to all sorts of types it is their view that the value of the RMC engineering degree (I can't speak for other degrees) is not all that great. These are the people that are hiring so their...
It also depends what you want to do in the long term future. Are you going to be in the military forever? What degree are you looking for? Do you plan on ever working in the civilian world after?
Also, would you be attending these other universities on your own time and dime or through ROTP?
However the same could be argued about franco personnel being posted in english parts of the country. The reality is that you can never make a decision that will please everyone.
If you are really in a quick rush to get your joining instructions you can just download them off the CFLRS website, I assume that's where you are going. Those are probably the more important thing to be looking at because it has a big list of stuff to bring (everything from what kind of shampoo...
Well, my start date for IAP/BOTC was and still is quickly approaching. I had started running in an attempt to get into shape. Due to my civy job I found myself in hotels a lot (5 nights/week) in strange towns so I go accustomed to using the treadmill in the hotel. When I left that job, just...
It is not like that anymore. It is classified as a 'training aid' and not a simulator because of the way it behaves (not exactly like an airplane. It is also in Trenton now, and you do not do VOR holds or approaches. You just fly the basic '6 pack' a lot (turns, climbs, descents...
