Normally you will not be considered for an occupational transfer(OT) until your fourth year of service.  If you pick a trade you don't want, too bad, you do for four years.  OTs are not just given out either, there are a lot of conditions that have to be met before you get it.

The CF is currently hiring Canadian Citizens only.  In order to get level 1, you are required to live in Canada for a minimum of five consecutive years, they must be the last five years.

There are many reasons for the long wait, you may have a medical problem that needs review, you may have a problem lurking in your past (criminal,financial), there might be enough people serving in the occupation you have applied for, or, you did not merit high enough to get an offer.  Face it...

What is RAOTP?  Is this something new?  I don't understand how you got hooked up with an Infantry Unit if you wanted ARMD RECCE.  In the GTA, you  have to find a unit and be recruited through them.  If you had no intention of going Infantry, you should never have put it down as an option.

Actually, there is three pay levels between Pte and Cpl, depending on the trade you are appling for, the manning requirements for that trade and your qualifications, you might get Pte 1, Pte 2 Pte 3 or Cpl.

There is no set average that they look for, but you probably won't be competitive unless you are in 80-85% range.  As for the Visible Minority or Female crap, all people are equal when they compete for ROTP.  Canuck_25  you should get your head out of your a$$, that was a stupid remark.
