    ROTP 2011-2012

You can use some of your paid leave days. As for me, I guess I'll be in school until May 12th, since my school is on strike and the session will last longer than planned.

    ROTP 2011-2012

It really depends on which base. Some are very fast, others way less. Civi-U and others attend a group meeting twice a year with the career manager. Basically, a two hours of "don't this and that, never do this, that would piss us off, etc", and that's when he told us the date for BMOQ

    ROTP 2011-2012

People going civi-U in Québec (francophone BMOQ) were all told May 14th by our career manager. However, nobody received the official posting orders yet. Congrats! Welcome aboard.

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Seriously, maybe it's just that I misinterpreted the tone of your post, but I have a feeling that the cocky attitude will not help you at BMOQ...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Yes. or a bit later. Last year ROTP thread shows that the first offers came mid-april, and they kept on coming for a couple of weeks after that.

Dear "journalist", please name me allies that bailed out of the program. Funny text, few facts.

    F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)

We can all thank John Boyd and his acolytes for that. Without them, I'm not sure the Bradley would have been a good purchase.

Bad habits developed by civilian pilots

Thank you very much for the answer. I'm not related to Andrew, but would love to fly with him soon.

Bad habits developed by civilian pilots

Did you mean a bit of right rudder, in order to counter adverse yaw? I did not mean to say that a perfect aileron roll (no rotation about the lateral and normal axis, and constant altitude) was easy, I know it is in fact impossible for it to be perfect. A basic aileron roll that starts and...

Bad habits developed by civilian pilots

At first I thought about starting a new thread for my next question, but I'm not too sure it deserved it, so I'll ask it here. An aileron roll is a pretty basic maneuver. A 360 degrees turn around the longitudinal axis of an airplane. When done properly, the entry and exit altitude should be...

    Trades Acceptable for Pilot Transfer

Unless it has changed in the past weeks, that's what was on my offer, which is kept safe in my rectal pluck.

    Trades Acceptable for Pilot Transfer

I'm am doing a degree in atmospheric physics, also known as meteorology (but we hate using that term, since people think that what a meteorologist does is to present the weather on television). Stop believing things that makes you worry about things over which you have no control. Ask your...

    Trades Acceptable for Pilot Transfer

PFE is just one more thing that improves your application. It's not a requirement at all. You can score points in many different ways. Work experience, sports, and other things where initiative and leadership are required matter too. A lot of people without any PFE pass the CAPSS and are...

    ACSO to Pilot Transfer??

Exactly. If someone decides to take the flight school path, he will end up paying way more than the aeroclub/block of hours on a private airplane path. Thanks AGD, I forgot to mention the 50h glider time in my previous post. Then, if you do it right, you can definitely get your CPL for less...

    ACSO to Pilot Transfer??

It might not be as expensive as you think. You could find an aeroclub or an airplane owner that could sell you a big block of hours for a very decent price. While building your hours, make sure you optimize your flying so you only need the minimum hours in the air (always fly better than test...

    BMQ and Medical in general

The food at CFLRS is great. (when you have enough time to eat!). There is everything you need. You won't have to worry about your supplements.

    Pilot Perseverance

Don't bother with getting a PPL. If you fail aircrew selection and want to try again, you'll have to get a PPL if you don't already have one (if you have one, you'll have to get the next license, the CPL$$$). However, flying now and then is fun and could give you a lot of pleasure and...

    Top 6 marks

I think the point is to stop worrying about such things. Once your application is submitted, it doesn't matter to you how the selection board treats it, since you can't do anything about it. You only have to prepare well and nail your CFAT, interview and ASC (you apllied pilot right?). The...

    Regular Officer Training Plan (ROTP)-RMC 2000 - 2018 [Merged]

Would you be happy with any career in the CF that is not pilot? If yes, then put other choices. Otherwise, why bother putting other choices and then refuse an offer. Question for the guys that went to Aircrew selection in Trenton. Out of the group, how many passes/failed in the sim and at the...

Phase 2 in Moose Jaw. Do any OJT's have questions?

Awesome thanks for the answers. If I sum it up: you either go to MJ, get to fly the Harvard, have the chance to become an instructor (something I'm sure I'd love to) later and could go fighter also (all great), OR, you stay in Portage and have the possibility to get your wings sooner and if in...
