Newbie question here, but when a WO commissions does he or she start out as 2Lt? (and I'm am guessing they do not need a degree at that point, having so much hands on experience anyways)

My friend left last year in August, but she mentioned something about a course not happening that year.. but I do know (as someone posted above) that IAP and BOTC are now the BMOQ for 2nd year.

I am good with it. Id rather it warm right now since I am trying to get into a physical regime and the whole bitter cold is a little unmotivating.. but whatever spring will come sometime :D After all, we are the big burly Canadians who live our days out in the bitter airs of the north... right?  ;D

All of this overseas stuff (relative, birthplace, etc) will probably end up slowing your application down if it is already not a factor in your current situation  :-\ (although I can't say if it would effect it as much as say, you lived overseas for a period of time. I am no expert  ;D )

Just a little insight, not sure if it would help.. I had to change a reference I was using because someone recommended it would not be a very good one and may not be qualified. When I called the CFRC up he just x'd out that reference and put in my new one. I do not know if they kept the person...

Good link. I am not joining the Combat Arms family solely for the chance to fight. It just seems more of the getting out and doing things area. As for hitting the wall at Captain (which I am sure is not that bad...), I will worry about that down the road.. far down the road  ;D

Yea, I am also more excited then nervous for this whole adventure. So I can't blame ya :D I'll be going CF as NCM (most likely) If I do not make it into ROTP so I am not worried about being 100% rejected at the moment.  :P

Would you say that this means the CF would want MORE or LESS officers in the future to balance out the experience through the ranks/years?

Thats completely true. It is probably just by luck that most of the people posting in this thread say they had good luck with the math portion. I know several people this year and prior who applied and had ill luck with the math portion (and they all had different academic backgrounds and...

No, I have not heard anything other then my file has been finalized and waiting the review board. And the only official information I have received is that the ROTP board is in January.

He did not seem to know what to say, random comments were spilling out it seemed to me haha
