although i've only ever been through airport security once in combats and got stopped for the alarms and whistles because of my boots the guard appologised and just asked me to remove my boots becuase of the metal and just scanned them with the wand. funny thing was he didn't care that i'd...
i can't see the big issue with that, i know when i left australia for the gay and lesbian parade in Sydney the military actually had there own float (official or unofficial i'm not sure) something called G-Force, was an interesting way to see one of my classmates on the front of the newspaper...
I wouldn't be too concerned with time frames for these i'm still waiting for mine to be finished and it's been 14 months now, although I did hand them about 500 pieces of paper. It will start off slowly then when you are enlisted it may take a little more prompting to people to continue to chase...
from my own personnal experience I tried a citizenship waver and was not successful even though I came from a commonwealth country with previous military experience. Keeping this in mind that I also was due to take the citizenship exam after harassing the recruiting center for close to 3 years...
I have the ADM on my CF's and am proud of it. I spent 10 years in the Australian navy and the medal was introduced after i discharged. Originally I believe one of the conditions of this medal were to have completed an initial enlistment term, I'm not sure of what the aussie army terms are but...
i've been given unoffical training with PLGR. i was taught at 202 workshop only because i'm here on OJT it was very basic probably no more than 5 minutes of instructionbut prior to that it was heres a GPS go play. we use it each time we test anything leaving, and in conjunction with CDT...
i'm not sure how the training goes for the navy here but i'll take a guess that all the members of this branch have some sort of electrical background for the trade (hopefully my guess is somewhat close.) now to my suggestion. make the branch all electrial technicians with streaming for comms...
these are setup nice the seats you could easily sleep in. we had to strip these things totally when we received them to other mods could be completed then re-assemble them. unfortunately we still have another 5 to do and they can be time consuming to do the comms on but other than that i'd work...
these are pretty impressive vechiles, i've been lucky enough to work with the buffalo and cougar installing various components on them. only heard one report of a buffalo hitting an IED with the spork to detonate it causing minor damage but have to admit it's huge and for the days when it was...
born in England, moved to Australia joined the navy there for 10years then moved to Canada (Montreal)where i joined the army. so i'm my own multicultural society.
i've tried to find golden syrup in montreal for 5 years to make these cookies with no joy... nothing like the real stuff haven't had ANZAC biscuits for 7 years now and missing the good old 4n20 pies
if Canada did get newer subs perhaps it would convince me to go back to the dark side, already qualified on Oberon and Collins class. although i do remember the problems we had when Collins was first introduced they were pieces of junk spent more time alongside than at sea completing trials just...
i'm currently there now and will be for probably another 5 months or until i get back on my course. basically you gotta make the best out of what it is. yeah it's not that exciting but my best advice is try to get on taskings as quick as possible or even OJT. on the brighter side if you are BMQ...
the ADM is only a recent medal i believe issued firstly to serving members in 2006 then to discharged members. i'll get in contact with honours and awards and see if there is any paperwork with it.
again thanks for the prompt replies it all helps.
only problem is i only have original request for issue of ADM as it was after i left and not a cerficificate of issues like with the ASM but i'll try with that. but thanks anyways it was roughly what i had been told but they weren't absolutely positive.
just a quick question, as i'm now officially entering the army as of the 19th Mar i was wondering would i be eligible to wear awards which i had received whilst serving in australian defence force. below are the listed medals and qualifications and the critieria for award
Australian Service...
this is where my confusion is, on my application for it says airforce i even checked and double checked with recruiters. now although I've selected airforce on my enlistment documents i was offered the land element course to commence within the next month. so from what people have been saying...
