There is a new website dedicated to the Canadian Infantry. You have to be or have been a serving member in the Canadian Infantry to register.

The site is fairly new, so mention it to the guys at your respective units (maybe even try to get a direct link to it posted...
Hi McBear, good to see you again.
As far as getting your jump course in the reserves: with the QOR, once you are a trained soldier, you can throw your name on a list. It would seem that most competant soldiers get the oppertunity to go (and some cannot due to work, so I'd suggest joining early...
They dont have to be encrypted as they arent command level radios. Most of the chatter on our frequencies occured during our firefights, and was used to locate people and organize. I agree that it would be easy to tap into those frequencies, but there was no information important to the overall...
They should be standard issue. The advantages to having them in combat can hardly be measured. We had them issued to us during CAC, and they saved hours of confusion (and would have saved lives on a real battlefield). Invaluable.
Yeah, they sell Iltises. A friend of mine bought one, and we went off road camping to a hunt lodge (near Tweed). It's pretty cool (and it didn't break!).
Go buy one, 8500$ is about what he paid.
Chris.
You didn't here this from me...
As far as polishing the bottoms of the boot (which some instructors require), use hairspray after you have cleaned the dirt off (If you use polish, it will make a mess).
Also, try and get a HORSEHAIR brush for buffing boots, they are the best (don't use a kiwi...
It's not on the list, because its now unit issue (though this is also new news to my QM as well!). It's no longer part of the initial kit draw, go figure.
I know that with the QOR, we show up on the 25th (Friday of next week) at 1930, and depart Saturday morning. This avoids the late-comer problem, will allow staff to check out our gear (basically, sort out any problems).
I'm sure other units will do similar things. Ask your section commander...
Please use that handy search feature, and read through the equipment section before posting a question like this. See "Day Pack", in this section (about two topics down right now). Your going to find that people don't want to answer the same questions twice ;).
I just installed a replacement chin strap assembly on my issued helmet (replaced with an issued chin strap). The weird thing is that it now does up on the right-hand side of the face (no, its not on backwards ;)....yes I'm sure). Every other helmet I can remeber seeing has done up on the left...
You shouldn't be able to fill one of those packs on a one-day ex. Just get a nuke bag (IPE/NBC/NBCW whatever you want to call it:)). I've survived entire weekends with it and a vest. Best part, its cheaper than the other bags you've been looking at(90$ in CADPAT), made as well (not comparing the...
Ghost: Did you sew your underwear into a little inspection "package" or somthing?
On the subject of Vibrams...is a med chit required to wear them on BMQ/SQ?
Best Regards,
Chris
Its also a draw, knowing that you can transfer into the Regs at any time. Its good for people who may find themselves in financial need/whatever and need a quick full time job, to know that they can transfer next week.
The march they are probably referring to, is the D-Day march. I don‘t believe there is much drill involved.
Any "parading" with the unit you will do, is probably just a reference to a training night.
