    "Your file was refreshingly boring."

I always knew I wasn't military material, I don't know how I knew it, or why I thought it, but that is a thought that has danced between my ears for years (and considering there ain't much between my ears -- you can be sure that is a thought that stood out). When I first had the spark of...

    This is why you're fat

Not only cod tongues, but cod "cheeks" (not really the cheek" per se, but an oil-filled sac) are absolutely awesome. Have not tried moose brain, but cow tongue ain't bad. Also, true blood pudding is great if cooked properly, and haggis is perhaps God's gift to man.

    Where do you call home?

Like many on here, I have lived a... ummmm.... traveled life. While I haven't lived outside of Canada, I have spent considerable time in provinces from Ontario, eastward. And the biggest problem is that I haven't spent the bulk of my time in any one, so calling someplace "home" is limited to...

Heh, yes. I am joining the distinguished ranks of the rubbernecks (otherwise known as the Comm Res Ops) I will save the life story for the "Personal Stories" section, but I will say that I thought the position suited me well from reading (what little there is about it) and speaking with current...

    Application Process Samples [2003 - 2018]

Well, just over a month and I was accepted today!  ;D I was actually told that I would likely only be merit listed, and because of how my references were going (two were on surprise vacation), I didn't even figure I would get that far. On a whim though, I called my career counselor and he...

    Interview advice (merged)

To be honest, I was thinking the same thing. If someone said "ABSOLUTELY!", I am pretty sure that that would raise big ole' red flags in my mind. Likewise, if you say "ABSOLUTELY NOT!", then I think that one would have to wonder if the military is right for you. Seems like almost a trick...

    Push up technique

Hey All! I was just wondering if anyone here has tried training with multiple variations of the push up and what their success has been like. I can very easily accomplish 40 regular PSP push-ups, but for kicks, I attempted the "diamond" variety and have found that it really makes you "feel the...

    Struggling [ Chin-ups]

Oddly enough, I have found a very unorthodox method of doing chin ups. When I was in high school, I decided I was going to get "in shape". I could jog (just barely), do a couple of push ups, and sit ups but chin ups were foreign territory. I didn't really have a half-decent chin up bar anywhere...
