    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

So clearly the gun’s breach was opening while still pressurized. That is a major safety issue in any vehicle -

    A Deeply Fractured US

I know a fair amount of USSS personnel, and most of those are fellow gun enthusiasts who are traditional Republicans. When some of the mob that broke into Congress where marching around saying ‘Hang Mike Pence”, a lot of folks on his detail and others - they and many others started...

    Infantry Vehicles

I suspect you will see 4-6 ULTV in the USMC Rifle squad. They are retaining the 3x4 teams, and doubt the SL will want to ride with the ASL, and no one wants to cross load squads. Plus the ULTV really isn’t big enough for 4 Marines and all their gear in a combat load out.

    A Deeply Fractured US

I don’t think you understand what the USSS detail does for current and former Presidents. Document handling isn’t in their job description, that’s for a WH CDO. Former Presidents don’t get a CDO (be it DoD, DoE, DS or IC entities). For former Presidents physical site security isn’t...

    Ukraine - Superthread

It has definitely been altered. I saved it and blew it up on some areas - the middle area where the Leo and the Badley almost meet something had been done as there is a lot of blurring on the pixles. The ARV - I think is one of the UAF’s T-62 conversions. There is a few articles on Ukraine...

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

The muzzle brake and bore evacuator ensure that the pressure is all on the outside, and the fact the breach isn’t unlocked until the pressure has subsided. One never wants to be a dismount around tanks or IFV’s though as not only will they jockey right over you if they get spooked by an...

    Big Fires Around Halifax

In Virginia the haze started Monday, Tuesday we had the smell of smoke, but today it smells like plastic is burning - and the Air Quality is in the Awful Purple zone.

I'll disagree there simply as for some areas Arty won't be appropriate, and secondly if the CA was to have Div and Corps Arty, it wouldn't get to theatre for months due to the limits of Canadian transportation, thirdly without an expansive AD bubble your Arty won't last.

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

In my later years, I have become a much greater adherer to Doctrine. I've posted several rants about how the MPFV flies in the face of US Army Light Doctrine. It smacks of another GWOT "Bad Take", as Light Doctrine is very specific that sort of need means that Light Forces aren't the force...

From your link: The turret’s flexible design allows it to be integrated with either 105/52 mm rifled or 120/45 mm smoothbore low recoil force guns. The turret is a good three feet longer than the LAV turret - as it needs to make room for the low recoil force gun. The AMX-10 has a "medium...

    Replacing the Subs

Canada’s closest allies only build Nuke boats now because the rows required from them for longer range patrolling and under ice work require a nuke boat. Canada however is apparently the only one in step in the marching troop…

    Informing the Army’s Future Structure

Imagine the annoyance of physics being a thing right ;) The recoil forces of cannons are massive. For smaller vehicles to mount them, they need to be able to manage the recoil energy differently than tanks. Both in terms of limiting the arc of fire to ensure that the forces don’t tip...
