    WWII Oddities..

As the following link states, 'I havn't verified any of these', with the exception of #'s 2, 7, 17 and 20 (just a random check to see if they have any merit at all). http://www.geocities.com/pentagon/bunker/9969/afjokes3.html#ww2odd 1. The first German serviceman killed in the war was killed...

Ferry chopper ditches in Atlantic with 18 on board

...That really gets me thinking, knowing that I might've met the guy or seen him perform in real life.. Maybe you people already in the forces are use to it - but it sure hit me harder reading that sentence than hearing on the news "-- dead in ---- -----", almost everyday.

    F-22 Image

I (heart) military jet photos; use to have a few framed ones and models in my bedroom when I was young. Though, this one looks like it was painted, or from a video game. But it's very nice, nonetheless.

What's the dumbest thing you heard said today?

I work in a bakery, and a lady comes in to order a Black Forest cake.. Her: What sizes do you make them in? Me:  8" round and an 8x12. Her: Is the 8x12 also round? Me:  ...........Pardon? I gave her the benefit of the doubt - maybe she was thinking 12" round and 8" high. So I explain. But it...

    Treadmills

Here's a 'treadmill effort chart' which considers running on a treadmill at 0% incline easier then running outside (belt moving your feet for you, outside air/wind resistance etc.) http://www.hillrunner.com/training/tmillchart.php Example: Say you're running at 8mph on the tread. This gives you...

Students view of Canadian military power changing?

Back in Grade 12 history class, we spent nearly a month on Canada's roll in WWI and Rwanda, including writing essays on Vimy Ridge and Ypres. I'd bet now you couldn't convince a single student from that class that Canada was an insignificant military power then or now. Maybe because of the war...

What's the dumbest thing you heard said today?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7xImHjReoqk In short: An earthquake pattern shaped like a dagger (not) which points right through the US and Canada! Oh noes!! The author claims it's the work of scientific experiments (good thing governments always use symbolism to tip off conspiracists)...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Also, within 4 months on training with slower longer runs, my resting heart rate dropped about 20 beats, but my HR at 10mph only dropped like 3 or 4? I think that's why my trainer is emphasizing leg work now, maybe it'll help my 'max heart rate' drop easier. Don't quote me on that though - it's...

Physical Fitness (Jogging, Diet, Cardiovascular, and Strength )

Hey Big Burn. I too am an exceptional runner, and just recently my trainer at the local gym switched my running routine to shorter runs (20mins) but running up gradual hills (treadmill incline), hill intervals, and emphasizing on leg exercises. If you're legs are the first 'to go', try training...

Recruiting Posters, Slogans and Commercials [Merged]

I did NOT join with the intention to go overseas and shoot people (although I did apply for Infantry as second choice). I joined for a number of other reasons, but mainly to help people - not fight them. Anyways, on topic, I think our commercials are OK. I think the dark atmosphere they seem to...

    Struggling [ Chin-ups]

The lat pull down machine really helped me with my pull ups when I started. I did reps in the 8-10 range with it, which increased my pull ups 4 fold in less then a year. Try it~
