    DNDLearn & Your MPRR

That's right.  Someone with MITE access has to put it onto your MPRR, when I was a/TASM, I did them routinely.  And, DNDLearn / SABA / Moodle DOES NOT TALK TO HRMS, period, fullstop.  Someone must MANUALLY do the data entry for your course.  If you were nominated and got a message for it...

I don't know what to do about Post-Secondary! Help!

Well, if you think the risk is acceptable, go for it.  There are plenty of people who don't have post-secondary, and have very successful careers.  Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard to found Microsoft.  I suppose it bears mention that he did go to Harvard, even if he didn't finish.  What we...

    Application process during highschool

Think carefully about choosing not to pursue post-secondary education.  Going right into the 'Forces from high school has been an option for many, but especially in the combat arms, without some kind of alternative plan you're likely to get yourself pigeonholed into doing just one thing for the...

I don't know what to do about Post-Secondary! Help!

What is the question that you're asking exactly?  You're in grade 10, and you don't want to go to post-secondary school so you're going to join the Canadian Forces as an infantier, so that you don't have to go to school to have a career?  You want to know about the consequences?  What exactly?

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

Could someone elaborate a little on the concerns about doing the test in operational dress?  I understand that boots make a difference when it comes to certain tasks.  One would think that footware isn't terribly relevant for the sandbag lift and the loaded shuttles.  Boots would be an advantage...

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

Didn't the MND and the CDS do the test in PT-strip?  Call me crazy, but wouldn't it make more sense for the upper echelons to do the test in the same clothing that will be worn for testing?  Or maybe I'm just applying logic to the government, which I know, is always a dangerous combination. ...

    TIME OF APPLICATION PROCESSING

Recruiting centers are working on ROTP applications now.  Their priority is ROTP so give it a few more weeks.  Things will happen soon.

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

I know I'm coming at it from the outside, but having checked into the EXPRES test extensively, it seems like shifting to a task-based standard makes more sense.  The reasoning is probably that any arbitrary number of pushups, situps, grip, step, etc. is necessarily an abstraction.  The number of...

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

Okay, I must be on something.  Really sorry about that.  Trying real hard not to be useless.  Evidently, colossal fail.

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

Yes, I noticed.  Sorry about that.  I did try a few searches but wading through the thousands of results that happen with a string of "FORCE" is a fool's errand.  And "New PT Test," and the like come up with nothing.

Fitness for Operational Requirements of CAF Employment ( FORCE )

No thread on the new PT test?  Okay, I guess I volunteered myself. As of April 1st, 2013 a new PT test will be phased in to replace the CF EXPRES test. Details here.  https://www.cfpsa.com/en/AboutUs/PSP/DFIT/Fitness/FORCEprogram/Pages/About-the-FORCE-Program.aspx

Recruiting anxiety? It's not any better once you get into the system!

He's not kidding.  I've instructed courses in one or two locations to people who were reasonably sure that they'd probably never use the skills I was teaching them. When listing their favorite activities, unless they're a bit cracked, the first choice of your average arty gunner is most...

Recruiting anxiety? It's not any better once you get into the system!

I can't help but notice many folks on here with a lot of anxiety over the recruiting process.  "Did I get selected?  Am I competitive?  When's the next selection date?"  I confess that I'm not in the 'Forces, but I do work for the Canadian Forces.  And in my years behind the scenes, trying to...

    Selection date: TBD?

It's very hard to say at this point, but I have some ideas. For one thing, the fiscal year is just about to be over.  A lot of members are trying to burn off their remaining leave, and so the people who would normally sit on the boards might not be available until we're into the new fiscal...

    Firearms Discipline at RMCC

I know the difference between "make safe for inspection" and dry firing in my general direction.  This person was looking down the sights at the time, and the rifle wasn't in anything that could conceivably be considered a vertical position.  It was pointed horizontally.  And tell me, do you...

    Firearms Discipline at RMCC

To all prospective, and in some cases, current RMCC Cadets: Whilst I can't be sure, since I'm an uninitiated civilian long-haired hippie freak, I have every reason to believe that there's an RMCC Cadet who still has a career this evening thanks to my exceptional charity.  He's incredibly lucky...

Future of the OPME program/Everything you ever wanted to know about OPME

A gift to yourself unlikely to stop paying off any time soon.    ;D You probably had the luxury of automatically generated system e-mails that actually worked without having to be pushed out by a third party.  I remember those.  I miss those.

Future of the OPME program/Everything you ever wanted to know about OPME

My understanding is, that the department has found room for everyone, and noone who was previously approved for a course will be removed from a course now. This is a change from previous.  I've notified several affected personel this morning.  Other staff members are handling other personel.

Future of the OPME program/Everything you ever wanted to know about OPME

I can only speculate.  My guess is that it's because the contract for delivering DNDLearn has been won by a new company, requiring new hardware, so the powers-that-be decided to get DNDLearn working on the DWAN first, and everything else second.

Future of the OPME program/Everything you ever wanted to know about OPME

Which I just got confirmed will be DWAN only at least in the short-term.  Which means that if you don't have permanent DWAN access, you're pretty-much SOL for doing courses.  If you want to do your courses at home, you're SOL - you must go into the office, no exceptions.  If you're OUTCAN...
