University Training Plan NCM (UTPNCM) 2005 - 2018 [Merged]

Does anyone here have the ability to get confirmation or denial of more utp offers still coming out? I attempted to engage my BPSO,  but they weren't willing to make the call to Ottawa...

    PT Safety Markers

Good day All, I've searched through the site, and ACIMS looking for documentation on the proper protocol for markers on PT, and can't seem to find anything. It seems like an odd thing to not have direction on, or an SOP for, considering "it's what we've always done." It seems to me, I've never...

Armed Forces Consider incentives to keep soldiers fit

I'm not sure if it's official yet to be honest. We were definitely told 5 Km, and am FFO FORCE test not timed. That being said, I don't know / remember if the march itself had a time attached to it, and I'm not sure about plates either.

Armed Forces Consider incentives to keep soldiers fit

The 5Km march you're hearing about is a 70lb ruck march, followed by a full kit (minus ruck, ) force test. Not timed at all, but has to be done consecutively. This will be the pre-deployment test.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

I don't recall saying anything of the sort,  nor have I stated an opinion of any kind. I've simply posted what the Army Sergeant Major passed on.

If you're more in the know than the Army Sergeant Major,  so be it.

    Force Test Average Times

Or it could be left for times people get on the test. That would save looking through 35 pages of a generic thread. Possibly resulting in better search results as well. (In acknowledgement that I can sound sarcastic, this isn't meant that way.)

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

According to the PD brief with the Army Sergeant Major, it actually was "us" that decided on the Mark IV with the softer sole. They started out with a table full of boots, and via a list of "requirements" gained from trials, eliminated it rather quickly down to two boots. Then navigated their...

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

I'm sure there's a line up already just from talking about boots... hopefully most people at least try them on first.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

Not by default, no... is the short answer. They're moving back to one boot issued, one boot worn from what I understand. I'm sure there will still be people with medical chits etc... but the new boot will be the rule to the exception.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

I don't know about the documentation aspect of it. I'm just going by the info passed on to us via the CWO. He passed it on and told us to spread the info to those that ask / bring it up.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

It was also stated that there would be 80 sizes... I'm not sure if that will translate into a better fit, or greater chance of error, but that's what was said at any rate.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

Then I'd say it fits the criteria of a NEW boot.

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

] Nothing was unclear about what was said, and I doubt the CWO was mistaken, or shooting from the hip on that one. The Mark IV with a softer sole will be the boot we are issued going forward. I'm just not sure when the planned start date for that is, as I don't recall there being one given...

The Land Operations Temperate Boots (LOTB)

From a PD session here in Gagetown, the current brown boots are an interim boot. The decision has been made to go with the Mark IV for everyone, with a softer sole than initially trialed. I'm not sure on time frame or anything, but that's the word. My only issue (no pun intended,) is that there...

    joining the RCEME

If you're considering Mat Tech, also look at ACS... it's basically the same job, but ACS gets spec pay. I'm RCEME, and agree that Mat is a very useful / diverse trade, but why not get paid more?
