Air Force pilots safely eject before plane crashes near Moose Jaw, Sask
Two pilots safely ejected from an aircraft before it crashed near a Canadian Armed Forces base near Moose Jaw, Sask.

The pilots were flying a Harvard II on Friday in the vicinity of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, the centre of Royal Canadian Air Force training.

The Department of National Defence has confirmed both pilots are alive with non-life-threatening injuries. Their names will not be released.

The department said its director of flight safety is involved and an investigation will be launched, adding that the circumstances of the crash are not yet known.

The air force said it was in the process of notifying next of kin.

Hope all will be OK soon - this from the Info-machine ...
At approximately 10:30 a.m. Central Standard Time, a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) flight instructor and RCAF student ejected from a CT-156 Harvard II training aircraft based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw in Saskatchewan. The plane crashed southwest of Moose Jaw.

While the full extent of the injuries are not known at this time, we are relieved that the two occupants of the aircraft were able to eject with non-life threatening injuries. Notification of next of kin is complete; however for privacy reasons, the names of the flight instructor and student will not be released.

At this time the precise circumstances leading up to the ejection are not known. Flight Safety is at the location of the crash and the site has been secured.  A full flight safety investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident.

15 Wing will be providing the pilots, their families and the military community at 15 Wing the support resources they need at this time.
