Canadian warship crewmember dies during training exercise
Miltary says may be suicide
Published: Friday, March 10, 2006
HALIFAX -- A Canadian warship had to return to port in Halifax this morning after the death of one of its crew.
HMCS Ville de Quebec was taking part in a training exercise in the North Atlantic when the crewmember died on board.
The military says the unidentified sailor apparently committed suicide.
An autopsy was scheduled for today.
''Any death is sad news,'' said Capt. Mark Giles. ''Military police are investigating this, but foul play is not suspected.''
This is all the information thus far (that I have found regarding this). I watched the ship come into the harbour this morning from my backyard and never thought anything of it until someone contacted me and then I seen this.......If anyone knows anything else, please let us know.....
