Wondering if anyone can help me find out some information on the Croix de Guerre war cross. My Grandfather recieved one during WWII. He was a Canadian in the Artillery. We are not exactly sure on the year he recieved the medal..but believe it was either 1944 or 1945. Does anyone have any ideas on how many of these medals were actually presented to Canadians??

Kerry, the Croix de Guerre is a French medal. It is their medal for valor
what I can acertain from the internet.

The Belgians also have a Croix de Guerre which was awarded to many Canadians.
