Recruiting units must ensure that applicants who will undertake any initial MOC course that requires Basic Driver Training (BDT) as a MOC pre-requisite has a valid civilian (fully graduated) drivers license (i.e., 052 LMN, 215 SIG OP, 227 LCIS TECH, 411 VEH TECH, 421 WPNS TECH (L), 434 FCS TECH, 441 MAT TECH, 651 FIRE FTR, 737 MED TECH, 811 MP (861 COOK and 911 SUP TECH are under discussion)"
While as many of you may know, we in recruiting are not infallible and can make mistakes from time to time, albeit very seldom. It seems that the requirement to have a fully graduated license to apply for some MOCs had changed and it was not passed down to the pointy end. The only two trades that now require a driver's license before applying are MP and Med Tech. However, if someone did have a driver's license and was applying for any trade then that license has to be clean with no outstanding fines or tickets. The main confusion was between what an eligibility requirement was (i.e., age, education, etc.) and what was an Enhanced Reliability Check requirement (i.e., no outstanding fines or convictions, etc.).
For those I may have slightly pissed off about this issue, I humbly offer you a cup of tea.
