Many of us here serve in the Canadian or other nation's forces. In this capacity we are required knowledge of certain Toasts. As the New Year is rapidly approaching I figured it would be appropriate to highlight the way we as people celebrate. This thread is an opportunity to post your favorite toasts- military or otherwise.

My personal favorite:
"Here's to you and here's to me,
Friends may we always be!
But, if by chance we disagree,
Up yours! Here's to me!"

Cheers,

Wes

My first thought before I read the thread was: white bread, butter side up and a little jam and what a strange question.  But, as I read again 'TOASTS' then I got it lol.
PROST!    Robin

"Cheers" *belch*

Can't remember where I heard this one...
"To those who came before us"  :salute:

And I think this one was in a Clint Eastwood, huah Marine movie a few years back.
"To Our Warriors Deployed / Soldiers"  :cdn:
:army:

PS. I see the one I tried to remember has been removed..it was sort of bad anyways..if anyone remembers it, plse PM me...Cheers.
Oh, and Happy New Year.

A funny old Irish toast I liked:

May those that love us, love us.
And those that don’t love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if he doesn’t turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we’ll know them by their limping.

Cheers! Happy New Years !

Montrose's Toast

He either fears his fate too much
Or his desserts are small
Who dares not put it to the touch
To win, or lose it all

Always a good one to bring in Hogminay with!

For Hogmanay:
Lang may yer lum reek! ( my old Nanny used to add "wi' anither wifie's coal")
