Looking for Information on Relative

Hey All.....

I am looking to find out information on my great uncle who apparently serve with the Royal Canadian Engineers during World War II.

Where would be the best places to look?

All really have is a full name and hometown.....no service #......no unit.....but he had kind of a unique name.....
