Heard through the grapevine that Molsons sent a bunch of beer to the guys in Kabul. Anyone hear any thing else about it? If it‘s true, well done Molsons!
Beer or any alcohol won‘t be appreciated by the CF, (not to mention stealing Canex profits). They‘d be better off to send them hockey jerseys or pizzas...
**** the Canex Profits, those guys over there deserve free anything its good for morale, imagine serving your country and having to pay for beer and **** when it was suppose to be free. That makes me sick it goes to show how stupid our powers to be are.
I would theing they would be plenty happy just to have beer. on my tour in khandahar there was NO BEER , well there was that horrid NEAR BEER crap. as we were there in the US camp. Under their rules
with their cooks and their rations, well we did have a platoon of CDN cooks but very little canadian type food . in Kabul they have many times the creature comforts we did even at the end of the tour. the only time i saw any booze was on a 4 day leave period that we had .
:fifty:
From what I ‘ve heard from people over in Kabul, there is no shortage of liquor there now...Ask all the people who have been sent home for not following the beer limit (what the limit is exactly there I haven‘t a clue some days 2, when the GG buys the 3, 4, maybe more...), gotten disorderly and sent home early, short some pay and sans medal.
Its not the fact of the presence of beer or booze the point is that because of our poorly funded military these types of gifts are sold to make profit and prevent interference with Canex profit.
:soldier:
Even if there was no rule about it, it would probably be very hard to find off base, hopefully out of courtesy and respect no one would drink off base anyways.
