Well, I haven't quite posted up my application yet because I'm mighty nervous about the CFAT (even though I went through some samples and it was easy enough) and I want to also make sure I'm at peak performance physically. The thing that will influence whether I post up the application in a month or two or right now will pretty much be how long it may take to actually get to BMQ after I'm accepted. I want to be there either by the summer or shortly after. Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Some info about myself would be that I'm 16 and turning 17 in a week and right then I'll be ready to send over my application. Math isn't exactly my best subject and I admit I really bummed out quite a bit of Grade 10 and this year I don't even really care because of my anticipation to actually get into the army. I looked around on websites and these forums and have decided to buy a certain Prep Test booklet for the CFAT off of Amazon.com, take a short prep course for and as well as actually read up and make sure my mathematics knowledge is completely solid all around for what's needed on the test. I can easily fill out the requirements for my physical check up (spending 2 hours a day or more working my butt off in a local gym) and for everything else I'm more than ready. For me I "have" to take any precautions that are available to me - whatever can prepare me a little more for this. A career in the military is really the only thing I could imagine myself doing - either as Infantry or more hopefully Infantry Officer in the Regulars. I really don't want to be in a situation where I think it's going to be a breeze and later found out I failed for whatever reason (especially finding the statistics and stories from these forums) so my philosophy is prepare until I'm confident that I've prepared as much as I possibly could. Um, well I know that's a little bit off-topic, but may as well add in a description of my going-ons for my first post.

Also, I was wondering exactly the difficulty of the questions on the actual CFAT. The samples I went through were really straight forward, but I was wondering exactly on what scale the difference in difficulty is.

Also, how long is the application process exactly? Once you put in the application how long do you have to wait to be appointed? Will we do all of the required check ups in one day, will it be spread out or will we take a bite of it every little while. I checked the forces.ca site and couldn't find anything too specific other than the steps towards being accepted.

Thanks in advance.

You're not even finished high school and you already have this attitude?  And if you are throwing it out so casually with the members on the board, it's obviously not a big deal to you.  I can tell you that it is though.  If you feel that way about school, then I wouldn't want you working for me or with me.  You still have school to finish, and many courses to get through in the military.  Just because you have the required number of credits and are the right age and might pass the CFAT, you still have an interview to go through.

As for the rest of the questions in your post, do a search throughout the site as they have been answered in detail, repeatedly.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you are going to go nowhere in the Army with a Grade 10 Education.  You will definitely not be an officer without a Degree.  As for any questions about the CFAT, there are several topics already on the subject.  Try the SEARCH function and you will find them.

To summarize. Welcome to Army.ca, start reading.
